    Caffeinated drinks is just so cheap to produced, once you get the marketing right, it's just insane profitability. Almost as cheap as water but you can sell it at a very high price.

    I work as an account manager for Red Bull The mark up of these products is insane Marketing is our biggest expense and the amount of units will sell is wild We were close to selling a billion cans in the UK alone last year If we assume each of them had a mark up price of let's say around 40-60p it really adds up!

    Thanks for this - never heard of this guy but have seen the product out in South Africa - never thought much of it as I am more of a red bull type of guy. But as a business person, I respect them. And on top of that other south Africans are also coming like Mofaya from a South African called SBU - which is also borrowing lessons from Monstor.

    Hansen's stock was dirt cheap in 2003, I had never heard of Monster at that point; sadly it quadrupled and I thought I missed the move lol. Went up 100x or so from when I saw it.

    3:46 I so much had hoped that the same Marketing model would be applied by SA Energy Drink "Mofaya" market placing it as a Gin Mixer in night clubs....Then for the Streets after. But now everyone is drinking energy drinks in SA their main reason Pepsi and Coke are just too damn expensive for 500ML compared to Energy Drinks....But can't understand why Red Bull(ZAR30.00) and Monster(ZAR20.00) (Big Fan of their Cool Sporting Investments) is so expansive and SA brands average ZAR 10.00....Its been years and these questions keep bugging my mind everytime I engage In a Taurine Boost....And will Coke and Pepsi ever start buying some of these Brands....As they are taking up our generations Fizzy Drink Market.Our Parents Drink Pepsi and Cola not these generations

    As someone who likes energy drinks, Monster is something I do drink but I also know it's not healthy, so I drink it only on weekends (especially since caffeine works better if you don't consume it every day)...still, anything can be harmful in too great a dose! You can die of water poisoning (!) - yes, only water, in huge quantities, no extra ingredients needed! If you consume 6 liters (for a 70 KG - yes kilogram, we don't use stupid measurements here in Europe anymore! - adult man) in a very short time, you can die!

    It's not just about mental energy. A moderate amount of caffeine is also good for making you better at physical activity. Caffeine makes it easier for your body to tap into fat as a source of energy rather than carbohydrates, ultimately improving your endurance ...that is, your body's ability to exert itself for an extended period of time
