So many of us are just managing to get by day-to-day. Maybe you’re super sluggish, your digestion is off, you can’t think clearly, you have brain fog, or just feel run down. This is what I call FLC Syndrome (Feel Like Crap). Unfortunately, there is no magic bullet solution. FLC isn’t caused by one single thing, so there’s not one single solution. There is, however, a systems-based approach-a way to tackle the multiple root factors that contribute to feeling this way.
Functional Medicine is all about looking at the way our systems function together, rather than focusing on one part of the body at a time. It is the medicine of “Why?” The steps you take to support whole-body health work in the same way.
In this video my guests and I dive into this topic and explain the importance of what you put at the end of your fork, improving your sleep, how the gut can affect your health, and so much more.

Like the plant farming industry isn’t ruining the environment with their tons of chemical fertilizers, pesticides and gmo’s. Everyone wants to talk about making sure meat is raised sustainably, but don’t like to say the same thing about plants. Encourage people to raise and harvest their own meat and plants. Not everyone can do that but at least realize that farming can harm just as much as industrial ranching can.

Dude is incredibly out of touch for saying restricting meat sales and raising the price is a “great thing and totally awesome man.” Let’s just remind ourselves that Bill Gates has a steak every night while pedaling the destructiveness from the meat industry. These people can go scratch, maybe that’ll fly in soft European countries but it’s not happening here in America.

On the meat thing...I am 53 male. I have been reversing pre-diabetes doing keto for about a year. Lately I have been eating more carnivore out of laziness. This raised my my protein to an average of 100+ grams a day. The difference has been absolutly noticeable. My skin looks better and my libido is back. Lol I understand it's not sustainable but I firmly believe we are supposed to eat a high protein diet Seeing how plant protein is also high in carbs plant protein is not an option.

Dr.H. Listened almost all the way through. Will finish. One idea: Look into Kosher laws Choices of foods, combining of foods, treatment of animals, methods, laws of slaughtering animals. May find more secrets of Jewish survival despite 4,000 years of severe persecution. Balance, social keys, (those who do) following the middle road, no extremes. Health guides from Maimonides. Celebrating keynotes in our history together. Most of what you have learned and are, thankfully teaching I learned from my mother. Smart woman who maintained "sugar is poison," circa 1940's. Much brought through tradition from her mother, and before. Where our health and behavior went off, from influence of (non-Jewish) culture. Jewish clinging to the wisdom of our forefathers and fore mothers, the gift of revelation from Sinai. You basically following logical balance of lifestyle. May you be blessed to continue. A whole cow can feed a family of 4 for a year. And that's like $1200k a year. We don't need to put restraints in "how much meat one can buy" but we need to have everyone learn to produce 30% of all their food intake including meat or fish. Then in the education system we teach organic and hydroponic gardening thru kindergarten on up. Have community gardens that can be used for thoes who don't have land. But you can actually grow alot of food on a small space using a fish aquarium garden system. We don't need to govern people more, we need to get people off the system so much, we need to make decisions that will for sure create a positive impact and help the issue. Soon after limiting people eating meat, we're going to see children be even more sick and people have even more Autoimmune issues. There are many scientific studies showing how important meat is. And i have not met one vegan that looks healthy. That's a true vegan or vegetarian.

Great information here, where do I start. The information on foods effecting health is SOOOOO important here that I wish they taught it in schools. I buy my meat from Carnivore Crisps which just came out with a meat box. I got one and it is fantastic meat. Yes it's a little bit more expensive but if you can afford it, it's something that should be looked into for health reasons. I switched over to Keto / Carnivore / Psmf due to my husband having a Quintuple (5) bypass around the heart. The bottom part of the heart was damaged and we were told it would always be that way, but after eating Keto / Carnivore / Psmf his heart healed itself which left the doctors speechless. So, I'm a big believer in eating correctly if you can.

For over 5 decades almost every day I have gone for a walk outside and all I see is birds, squirrels, deer, rabbits, sometimes bees etc. all they do is eat all day long for free and run around and get exercise for free and because of this I have never seen anyone one of these creatures that was not in perfect health, weight and shape unless an accident happened to them. They only eat natural foods from the so called nutrient depleted soil and take no vitamins or supplements but seem to still be in perfect health, weight and shape. I learn from them for free and get outdoor exercise for free and free Vitamin D at the same time. Where can I get better advice from? From Dr. Henry S Lodge? I am not sure if he is still around or what happened to him but he was an expert in diet and health with a specialty in Geriatrics.

I don't know where on Earth you live - but worldwide there are huge problems for wildlife, too, not only for humans and their domesticated animals. Bird can be mercury poisoned, carriers of viruses, many animals can have tic-borne illnesses. Fish are not as healthy they used to be, showing for example signs of industrial waste poisons and are not recommended for people to eat too often and also too much female hormones, stemming from medicines that land in the waters. In Sweden reindeers are famously poisoned even still by atomic pollution from Tchernobyl, but moose/elk are undernourished because unhealthy foresting - these majestic animals collapse from lack of B-vitamines (or so it is supposed). Nordic lakes are so acidified that in many places they are rescued by spreading chalk (calcium) into them from aeroplanes. The imbalance is also seen in the spread of invasive species, small and big, with their diseases spreading, too. But yes, you can improve your wellbeing by walks and you secure D-vitamine if you get sunlight on your skin in sufficient amounts (and not burning your skin).

@@beepbeepnj2658 You have your view, and it is in no way compatible with the facts I know about since decades. Recently Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences reports, that humans and their livestock now comprise about 96% of all mammal biomass on Earth. All other mammals - whales, sea lions, bears, elephants, badgers, shrews, deer, bear, cougars, rats, wolves, and all the rest - are only about 4.2%. You surely easily can figure out how skewed that is, also considering the amounts of pesticides, antibiotica, and medicines, humans and their life-stock consume. These facts haven't been there for thousands of years, but are changes we should worry about. If your personal report is a factual picture of how well things are locally in NJ I can only congratulate you and hope you enjoy and defend your paradise to the fullest. I myself have found a sparsely populated corner of Sweden, where we still can see som stars in the night, but also here the bumblebees and wildbees are deminishing, and many invasive species are troublesome, and drinking water in the taps comes from faraway sources, because here where there is conventional (neither traditional nor organic) farming it is not potable, if it would even be sufficient. A google search gives that among others these problems are still concerns in New Jersey: Combined sewer overflows. ... Unhealthy air quality. ... Protecting open space and farmland. ... Stopping sprawl. ... Cleaning up the state's waterways. ... Cleaning up the legacy of toxic waste dumps. ... Converting the state to a cleaner running fleet of vehicles.

I am a nutrition student. I say. If I may cut in, that you should eat a primarily vegan diet. You need vitamin b twelve so I would never say no animal products but minimal animal products. Get your calcium from tofu or tempeh (tofu is especially good). Green vegetables like kale and broccoli are excellent for calcium, too. You need iodine so seafood and small amounts is helpful. If you can avoid me then do so. You can also get protein from eggs. In terms of vegetables, You should get seventy five percent of The volume of your food from vegetables

My Dr won't do tests do ask for either, but I've been tired and sick worsening, but this is what's made huge difference. Seed oils take long time to remove damage, 2 to 4 years, so keep with it.

What would happen if we take all that corn in the Midwest and replace it with pasture as it was without irrigation? Animals need to be on pasture for the environment. Just ask Allen Savory about the killing of the elephants in Africa because he, at that time 50 years ago or so, believed they were overgrazing. He regrets that to this day and has created a pasture system to protect soil, unlike the endless plowing and discing which destroys soil. Soil, with its microorganisms can save the planet. Sure, eat less muscle meat, and more organ meat, and balance this crazy SAD by cutting out sugar of any kind. We can feed Americans a decent amount of meat off pasture. These guys, who I like, need to look a little deeper into the subject. In my county they are covering good pasture land with apartment buildings at a furious pace. Don't tell me it isn't possible.

I pretty much follow Dr. Hyman‘s advice on meat in proportion to vegetables. However, I don’t like how he virtues signals about “morality” and then condescends himself by telling the host about his protein drink that comes from an animal and then he eats fish, which is a living being. So I guess it’s moral to eat fish but not an animal? I don’t understand that correlation... He’s a well-meaning, liberal but “the science” doesn’t square regarding the “environment”.

Two and a half hours, really, I love you videos, but way too long. As is I have problems with your videos being more than half an hour long. Hi seriously believe you should put in shorter videos (The dummy version) how do you expect people to spend so much of their time watching your video, your videos are very informative, but you're not the only one out there and it's hard to dedicate so much time to just one video. Just so you know, even KZread research shows people that put in 13 minutes or less videos get lot more reviews than others, the research shows it's not just the content it's how much time people are willing to devote to a video. Of course this is your channel and you should run it however you think it's best.

So you're trying to tell me an animal taking an occasional sip of water uses more water than the untold millions of gallons of water needed to maintain plants on a farm especially during a drought. And what about all the pesticides that's running off the farms into the rivers and lakes, isn't that the real water problem, not to mention ALL the insects and animals who are being negatively affected by all those TOXIC chemicals. What about the countless animals who's homes are being destroyed to make room for all those "health plants". What about the hundreds of thousands of poor animals that's shot and killed because they're pushed out of their homes and have the nerves to eat the farmers crop because now they're starving to death. get real, what a load of CRAP!
