This gown is one of the most beautiful historical recreations I’ve ever seen. I think the cream and grey taffeta combination is stunning! Wonderful job 😍😍😍

I love how you brought the new colour silk into your design, you didn't let it derail you from you project, and you skills so good. It looks as if you had chosen the two colours from the start. Indeed I thought you had the two tone look in mind from the start.

Wonderful video for a couple of reasons: 1. You did "historically accurate techniques" when it mattered but used modern techniques to make it easier for yourself. (Not everybody has the time, patience, & resources to make historically accurate dresses using historically accurate techniques.) 2. You showed beautifully how to finish a project when it turns out a lot more fabric is needed than the design/pattern gave you the impression you needed. I am so grateful you didn't scrap this project or worse not upload these video because you ran out of fabric & couldn't find the absolutely perfect color/fabric content match to your original fabric. This gives hope to all viewers that making the mistake of "buying too little fabric" or "there isn't enough of the fabric you fell in love with at fabric store" doesn't mean you have to scrap your project that you spent untold hours to get to the point where your nightmare becomes reality... you don't have enough fabric to finish or to add all the desired trim. (I bet there's only a relative few seamstresses who can look at a Victorian dress & estimate an amount of fabric that is correct or slightly over what will be needed to make it.) THANK YOU!!!! I think it really adds dimension and life to have those three shades complimenting each other! And the tiny grey line along the fringe really does a lot to tie it together, in my opinion. It's small details like that, that really makes a gown something special. It would still look nice without, but it is just one of those perfect little touches, also the rose in front, that makes a world of a difference! So beautiful!

this is amazing! I LOVE the two-tone beige. don't think for a minute that the darker strip of trim you added afterwards was barely noticeable/not worth it - it really did bring it all together. this was such a treat to watch 🌞

I can't sew a button on; one of the many reasons I miss my Mom! But, however YT brought this to my attention, I'm glad they did. You've done an amazing thing, with amazing skill. Everyone would love to have someone like you Claire, in their circle of life. I guess we sort of do now, at least digitally. As for the 500 steps; I have always liked this saying, and it seems appropriate here: 一步一个脚印 ( Every step makes a footprint.)

I really enjoyed following the progress on this gown. I won't have done the piping around the fringe as you did. It really ties it all together. Often the subtle details are what creates a wow factor. Although many will not notice this detail, the mind creates a connection. Without it, most would find it jarring but can't say why. All that said, I love being a detail freak.

Women already smile more than men do, and too often there's so little respect for our personhood and actual wellbeing that the smile winds up being fake and forced. Start doing more to make the world a better place, and you won’t have to ask women to smile. You’ll see more than enough genuine ones on men and women alike.
