The 2GR Swapped Toyota Celica Just Got Major IMPROVEMENTS!

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

After a long wait for a new engine, the Toyota Celica with a 2GR-FE, and a E351 swap is back and better than ever! In this video, we discuss what has changed since the last time you saw the car, and further improvements are still on the way.
I addressed some of the questions from the previous video, like how to implement AC with the 2GR swap.
If you happen to have any other questions, leave a comment down below!

Pretty cool how well it fits in there. Little tidying and you could pretty easily convince someone it was like that from the factory.

Eventually get it painted, the exhaust redone with equal length headers, and possibly later down the road convert it to AWD!

The actual swap to take the old engine out and reinstall the new one was done in about 8 hours of over two days! Lol

Did you cut the cats out of the oem manifolds and weld in a straight pipe section? What size is the pipe from the collector back? Thanks! Awesome project.

Stock is250 headers cut at the flange, merging to a 2.5 in y pipe back to the stock exhaust with a bolt on muffler right at the end!

This is rad man this gives me the much needed inspiration for a yaris 2gr build what ECU did you use? I was thinking of just swaping everything ecu, tcu related from a highlander over to to save the time. Also how'd the original engine blow?

I appreciate it! It’s a Toyota Sienna ECU, Frankenstein Motorworks ecu tune! He is able to flash some 5 plug ecus. You’ll need to contact him on that regard, and keeping an auto with that ecu tune might not be an option unfortunately. The original engine blew likely from metal shavings from the cracked exhaust cam phasers. When we pulled the engine both exhaust cam phasers were cracked sadly. That could have sent metal in passages we didn’t see, and further damaged the engine along the way. I would give frankensteinmotorworks.squarespace.com/shop/p/2gr-fe-stock-ecu a look and send him a email in that regard for your exact ecu part number and how you plan on running it. Hopefully that helps and thanks for watching!

hey i have a question would a swap like this work on a 95 st or any type of swaps for the st model im looking into trying to do a swap but have no clue where to start

The exact same swap would work just fine in a ST, if it’s a manual those shift cables actually work better then the GT variant, or the S54 Transmission one!

You should sell the mr2 now. Celica is the better platform.

I don't think I will get rid of the MR2. That car has a personality of its own and is very unique! Now, getting my own Gen 6 Toyota Celica? Most definitely. When I have a shop and a good place to store my cars I will definitely be looking into purchasing one to convert to AWD. Thanks for watching!
