@@DaveMcIntyre Yeah, in general the V8s are the ones to choose; they're tried and true. The Ecoboost this and twin-turbo that...great when they're working but overcomplicated and overworked. Just begging for long-term problems. Just wish they still offered a manual transmission, but that's a pipe dream at this point. The Tacoma still does, which was almost enough incentive for me to choose that instead.

Ex Gf had a 96 Mercery Sable and a 3.0L DOHC V6. It was the first year of OBD2 in production. There was 10- 1/8" vacuum lines in that system, all of which would dry out and leak slightly every 3 months. Rebuilt the engine after the water pump propellor broke and the computer shut the car off. Still to this day you need to go to Ford to buy any replacement head gaskets or important bolts. Autozone said that DOHC engine was only put in 14% of all Taurus or Sable, so they never stocked many parts for it. If Ford even have those parts left. I rebuilt it in 2005; it was using 2 quarts of oil every month I figured may as well tear into it, the parts was free from her Dad, parts manager at a Ford dealer.... $266 for a camshaft. No cam bushings so if anything happened to the cam or cam journal it was $1500 per head. Had to be taken out from under the car. The firewall extended over half of the intake/throttle body of the V6. Head the size of a 351C 8" into the firewall....

They also had plans to release an actual proper full-size truck as a successor called the T150, but at the time they faced scrutiny and threats of lawsuits from Ford, given the similarities in the name to Ford F-150 name, and so they changed the name to Tundra when it hit production.

A man goes to a scrapyard and says I'm looking for a hubcap for a Lada. The scraper says sounds like a fair trade. How do you double the price of a Lada? Add a tank of gas. A man walks into a Lada dealership and says I want a refund. I drove my new Lada up that hill and couldn't get past fifty. The dealer asked what wrong with that? I live at 90.

I had a 1995 Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme Convertible and IMHO it was a very nice car. Not the fastest or most nimble car out there - but then again that was not the Cutlass Supreme Convertible's mission. It's mission was that of a comfortable (for the front two occupants) cruiser. It didn't have to be fast or have record road holding abilities. It did quite well for what it was designed to do.

    1. Pucture this: Miami, 1997, 11th grade.(1st day, 2nd half of school year) Our driver's ed class met at a 4 row stadium seating outsidd, 2 coaches did 15-20min of hillarious interactive staged class, then divided the group, the other half to a trailer. They us be really carefull, we had a small space to drive around & really horrible cars w the worst imaginable crash testing, no radio. No a/c. So, dont blame the car. But be carefull. The other one, while pointing at it says you drive a Porsche 911(baby blue1984. He specifically always parked it there) & they'll be driving a 1995 Chevy Cavalier.

What do you folks classify the Buick Grand National? The platform is too small for a muscle car of the Seventies and did not come with a monstrous v8 high displacement engine. Not a super car. Certainly a performance model. That existed in the middle 1980's. A 911 is no muscle car but will blow the doors of a charger.

15:50 The obvious purpose of the basket handle (AKA rollbar) was to keep the car from crushing the passenger's necks in a rollover. Whether or not it was required, I'd feel safer driving a convertible with one than without one. I believe some car makers have devised rollbars that popup just as the car is about to roll, so the car won't look dorky in normal use.

Genuinely shocked my 1st Gen Neon didn't make the "worst" cut, as they were very well known for eating headgaskets, and for having a crash safety rating of "Don't". It's larger Cloud car siblings made the list, despite being a better car... mostly.
