The 2025 Subaru Forester Touring Is A More Refined & Luxurious Sought After SUV
Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары
The 2025 #SubaruForester has been fully redesigned and as one of the most popular models in the segment and one of the best-selling vehicles in the #Subaru portfolio, the new generation takes the #ForesterTouring into luxury like levels with premium materials, better tech, and more luxury touches. While we are still waiting for the upcoming #ForesterHybrid to show up in a year, this new #Forester should continue to appeal to the faithful looking for a comfortable, practical, and capable compact SUV.

Happy Monday everyone! The wait is finally over and our full review video on the redesigned Forester is now live! While this is still not the quickest or most fuel efficient option in the segment, if you don’t want a complicated hybrid or turbo engine and just want a pure ICE vehicle, it’s hard to beat the combination from this new Forester.

You mentioned the take rate for the old Forester Turbo was not high. The issue with the old Turbo was it used Premium fuel. Put the 2.4 liter turbo from the Outback in it (using regular fuel) and it will sell.

Sub design, looks like an Explorer. An Engine, that can’t get out of its own way. 0 to 60 with one passenger and it takes over 10 seconds. That’s not underpowered, that’s dangerous. Imagine it packed with a family and all their stuff? As a former Subaru owner, I’m really disappointed. I won’t even start with a CVT thing.
I traded in my 2020 forester touring as my leased ended. I wanted to get another forester but didn’t want the same thing. I upgraded to the 2023 Outback Wilderness turbo which I love. Not loving the Mpg though. One thing I wasn’t a fan of my forester was that when I drove to visit my cousin he lived on a hilly road and putting power to that thing was like I strangling it to breathe to make it up he hill. Now with my outback it has no issues. When the new Outback gets redesigned I will make the decision if I am staying with Outback or the forester gang. Btw I loved my forester was the best safest car I ever drove.

Owner of a ‘19 Sport w all the options here. I really enjoy my Subie. I’ve actually off-roaded in it, traveled cross-country, commute, you name it. Has been totally trouble-free. This new one does NOT give me “want this” or “ooh an upgrade.” Soooo many shared parts, barely anything new. And IMO they made the Forester uglier w the facelift and even uglier with this “all new” model. I still think the ‘19 serves “unfussy utilitarian boxiness” but that’s all subjective. Curious about if any current owners get any desirous tingles from the new model. Also I know a lot of time has passed and the days of getting a great deal on a new Subaru has passed, but I got my fully fully loaded Sport new for 30k even. Excellent overview. For me it comes down to the Forester vs the CRV. Both at about the same price at the top trim I believe. Agreed, a hybrid should have been introduced at the initial offering; faster and better gas mileage. Maybe not enough incentive as is to trade in our 2019 Forester Limited.
Can’t imagine paying that much for such an anemic engine.
Used to sell Subaru and man this thing somehow gotten uglier. Feeling like Subaru is going to have a hard time to stay up to date and relevant.
Over $40000 for a vehicle that can barely get out of it's own way? At $40000 most competitiors come with a turbocharged/hybrid powertrain. I think the last gen looked better as well. I think Subaru is going overboard with some styling cues.

I have owned two Foresters, now that you can't have turbo on them I switched to the Outback Wilderness. I don't miss the Forester at all! They did everything right in the Outback Wilderness instead of waiting go test drive one to see what I am talking about. Mind you I did this grudgingly! I hated the fact that there is no turbo option, love the Forester XT but getting long in the tooth! Well no turning back now the Outback Wilderness is simply amazing!
There you have it ya'll, 10-second car!
So glad I got the 2017 Outback, just before the steering wheel redesign and the eventual move to side by side cup holders (for some reason cup holders are a pet peeve of mine). I also got the base model (25k) which didn't have the eye sight tech, I can drive myself thank you. In this Forester I like the rear view camera and things like blind spot and cross path detection, but other stuff like giant screens and start/stop engine is just annoying. And I'll take physical controls over screen controls any day of the week. I would also want to see the rear seats lay completely flat like my Outback, probably just keep it forever.
I recently was able to sit in one of these newer Subaru vehicles with that size of center screen, but what I found to be problematic with it is the portrait orientation. Seems nice, but the size of the backup camera screen, in effect, is the same size as my 2014 Civic's screen. I'd prefer a horizontal style screen for larger viewing. Seemed to be quick to response, though.
Great vehicle! Subpar engine. Cmon, Subaru!

The SUV was never meant to be a race car. The 8.5 0-60 is not really slow. It will not challenge a current Corvette, though in 1985 & 86 the 0-60 would match the Corvette V8. If packed with gear and four people inside, while being at 5,000 foot elevation, you might have a problem. I guess at that point the turbo is needed, and I will agree with you. Of course the gas mileage goes down and long term reliability might go down -- hard to say.
I hate the single exhaust tip, outback and crosstrek has hidden exhaust that is so much better !! Dual tips would have looked better but for a Forester with simple engine, WHY Duals?? So what I think, just hide the exhaust.
I'm a fan of the new body design on the Forester. Super fun to drive too.
I really like your jacket - what brand is that?
Video title is a real mouthful
I dont understand manufacturers fascination with going to 19 and 20 inch wheels. This SUV isnt for the track, I'm buying it to go on unpaved roads and mild offroad. I value smooth ride over razor sharp handling, plus I don't want bent rims or flats do to low profile tires, when I hit potholes on rough roads or trails.
Upscale? You misspelled "upsell." Heated AND ventilated seats are one of those things that should be standard across all new vehicle models over $35k or so at this point. Everything about this refresh rubs me the wrong way; the Forester peaked for the 2018 model year with the Eyesight equipped XT's and it's been going downhill since.
Probably the nicest forester ever
I had a 2021 Outback. My biggest complaint was with the infotainment unit, sometimes the screen would go black. I had a 2022 Crosstrek with a different infotainment unit, no issues with it. Bigger is not always better!
Certainly better looking than the previous gen!
Sought after is a stretch. What is the backup for this statement?
Still looks a few years behind the competition but so does VW. Anyways I miss the early/mid 2010’s XT trim. That was a fun suv to drive. For $40k i expect more power

Huge upgrade in the quality and capability of the electronics i think is the big change. Definitely would wait on the hybrid version which has been on the road in Australia for some time now. Great all around vehicle(still if not best ever) but a hybrid model would be confidence inspiring given the price point and typical weighing down as a Family people mover machine. Verdict: yep, looks like a Ford Explorer...just isn't a Ford Explorer which is what everyone will be buying instead.
What people still missing the point about Subaru is, most of their models doesn't need to be fast, it just needs to be capable while trying to maintain good fc. Yeah other car might have more power and faster while on the same price, but Subaru drives better on abnormal road conditions.
To make it a dream car Subaru needs to fix front/rear design, bring back XT engine, make it a bit longer to be sleepable, bring back control knobs, get rid of shiny plastic inside. Not asking about the CVT, this probably will never go away.

Seriously 0-60 in 10 seconds who’s in charge at Subaru is working against the company in my opinion.
I bought 2024 Forester few weeks ago (my 3rd Subaru). I knew 2025 has a bigger info display. Unfortunately, Subaru did a really poor job on designing the user interface and they actually made it harder to use. Honda and Toyota are bringing back hard buttons and dials for temp control and air flow control as they realized making them all digital was a bad idea (even though it looked cool in the beginning like Tesla models). So I bought 2024 model to have the real buttons. Plus the Subaru's info screen has a slow responsiveness and it's a bit sluggish. I don't even know where Subaru have found such a poor hardware and software in these day. Even $200 Android table has better responsiveness. But I still like Subaru and that's why I bought 2024 Forester. I can see the nice things in 2025 Forester: Better noise dampening. 3 eye sight cameras. More classical look. I hope Subaru do better job on the info system.

This only makes sense in the Sport down trims. Anything more than that begs for a better engine. Too slow, too inefficient and would be too expensive. The looks are fine, it actually reminds me of the 1st gen cause it looks so boxy. Overall if you get this in premium trim it’s a decent deal. Anything else there are just better options. If prices don’t drastically increase I think it will continue its sales numbers

It kind of looks like a Ford Explorer as it is right now. Wish it offered an XT trim. I'm spoiled by the 268 HP my WRX has.
not ugly to the point where I wouldn’t buy one, but certainly not attractive by any means. That said, wouldn’t get one because of the lack of power
Another great review Sofyan. Thank you for that. But, lost interest in the middle of the video due to Subaru misses in this new 6th gen Forster. Thank you!!! Sorry; but, your acceleration testing at 3,800 feet is only 3/4 of a mile above sea level. So, at 5,280 feet (mile high), I would expect the 2025 Forester to take closer to 12 seconds to get from 0-60. Are they ever going to actually change their interior? Fully digital display? Better center console?

Digital gauge cluster is needed, but that 11.3 inch screen also seems dated, yes, we need a big screen, but not bake climate controls into the screen, accord is a good example what manufacturers should be doing for a big screen. It has 12.3 inch screen, but also has all the climate control knobs and buttons.
Remember the XT engine
