You did the right thing. I did not give in to the mark up on the boost blue 2020 type r here in Cali. Went out of state and got it for MSRP. @@Demisable_Warth You also did the right thing. I walked away from a CT5-V Blackwing and an RS3. Both local dealers did the song and dance about how they were dedicated to MSRP pricing when courting my business, but when it came time to walk the talk it was a different story. Unfortunately, they knew that there would be buyers who would pay the markup they wanted on those specific cars. Ultimately, the market speaks and buyers share equally in this. Both cars sold. CT5-V B out of state and the RS3 locally.

Don't be fooled. They're still baking insane amounts of rev hang into these things. The manual transmissions in these cars have literally turned into a gimmick. A novelty. They are awful to drive and will just make you want an automatic. You have to pay an extra $1500 if you want to have anything close to the direct analog feel of any old manual car from the 90's with a flywheel replacement and an ECU reflash. And in my experience, even with the reflash it still doesn't fix the throttle mapping. You'd have to get a $1500 standalone ECU and all the headaches that comes with that just to have a car that gives a satisfying shifting experience. Had a 10th Gen Si and Type R and from watching the driving videos of these 11th gen's they have done nothing to fix it. And why would they? They don't actually care about the driving experience. They just care about ticking the manual transmission box so that they can cash in on the ignorant people that just want the novelty of a manual while also satisfying emissions requirements with all the rev hang. And idiots gobble it up because they have no idea what a car is supposed to drive like.

Now, I can be satisfied in driving my tuned (Stage 1) 2016 VW GTI S, which I believe has given me all that I've desired for less than $23k when I bought it new. I've driven it from NJ to CA, to FL, and and found it almost as comfortable as my 1999 Passat GLX V6. It's been reliable and has enough power that I rarely need to downshift for passing. I appreciate the relatively low-key styling for not drawing unwanted attention. So Acura needs to offer me something that does the same without costing twice as much. I have a Still Night Pearl 2017 Honda Accord Coupe 3.5L V6 with manual transmission. It produces 278 HP and 252 lb ft torque. The only way I got this rare car is because I used to work for Honda Finance Corporate division and ordered it through the manufacturer online. Brand new, MSRP was $36,000. I leased it for a year and bought out my lease for $18,000. I have 136,000 miles on it now, never had an issue, and the vehicle has been registered in 3 states. I'm meticulous on maintenance and changing fluids. It's definitely a racer and still gets attention every time I drive it. It feels like a more power Civic SI. I'll just push it closer to 300,000 miles and wait for the price on the Integra Type S to significantly decrease.

I drove a red, manual ‘86 Acura Integra for seven years, great car. Hooked me for life on Japanese quality and efficiency. Would love to see a return to two door/ hatchback design.

Its such a nice car. Too bad the markups make it so expensive, compared to older sports cars. Where I live, the dealers want $75K, you can buy a nice 996 turbo for that price or a 997.2

I pray no one pays that price for it. Why do people keep rewarding these greedy dealers??

@@itcangetbetter It's not greed, dealers charge market price. It's purely a function of demand.

@@PointNemo9 it's greed. It's scarcity based price gouging. Hurts the consumer in the short term and the dealership and sales people in general in the long term. Is it smart to engage in even more practices that will make the consumer hate and distrust dealerships and sales people? Short term financial win for them, but we're all looking for a way out because of it

@@itcangetbetter this only happens because Honda set msrp below the true market price. Charging market price is not gouging

@@PointNemo9 Honda set a price where they make money and the dealership makes money. Dealers decided that with such small stock, they could try to force consumers who want it to pay a higher price. $70k on an ILX with a body kit is an emotional decision, not a rational one. Dealers are just trying to take advantage of people, as is their nature
