Actually, it's not so much the launch control on 992 Turbo S. It's the AWD system. McLaren supercars actually launch harder, once the driver gets it right.

It's also the brutality of how the dual clutch transmission dumps both clutches and as well as the AWD system that Porsche uses for this car. I don't think I know of another dual clutch that lets you launch doing a 5000 RPM clutch dump.

Sofyan launch's are some of the best in the industry, just like the fantastic reviews he delivers.

It’s gotten to the point I would rather watch these videos…and walk into a dealership of any kind and not be bothered by salespeople. For me to actually walk into the dealership…it means I want the car…and 99% of the time I know more about the car then they do. Sometimes I’ll talk and they will look at me with a blank face. All they care about is the price anyway

This is one of my dream cars (especially in this spec) for many reasons, especially for the design and performance. The yellow is my favorite color, due to the brightness that makes it noticeable on the road. I also love the four pin front headlights and the full taillight bar, along with the width of the car that gives it an aggressive stance. Also, the launch control in the Sport + mode is so fast and has so much force that it makes me fantasize taking it on a drag strip against another vehicle or launching it at a green light on the road, especially with the 0-60 time in the 2 second range. This is the Porsche that I would want to buy if I had the money for it.

Excellent review. I have 2022 GTS in lightweight package and currently waiting for allocation for 2023 911 Turbo S . Seats save 18lbs each compared to 4-way sports seats. They are around 19lbs each , 4-way sports seats are ~37lbs each and 18-way seats are 67lbs each. Insulation taken out for the same package is ~2lbs, thinner windows are ~4lbs and rear seats remove is ~7lbs each side. So it all comes to ~55lbs of savings. But lightweight package adds rear wheel steering ~7lbs. There is no point in my opinion paying $11k for lightweights package on 911 Turbo S. Get CF seats ~$6k, PASM that lowers the car 10mm ~1.5k, and add CF roof for $3.9k (I am still 50/50 on roof since it only saves 1.1lb compared to aluminum roof). If you want exhaust noise go with GT3 (if you can get it). Even 991.2 GT3 has better exhaust noise compared to my 2018 MB AMG GTR (AMG GTR is V8 TT). New 911 GT3 (my friend got lucky and had allocation in January) exhaust noise is extraordinary. The only turbo engine exhaust noise comparable to 911 GT3 in my opinion is coming from Ferrari 488 where they limit RPMS to 3,900 at low speeds to get that effect. Anyway my 2023 Turbo is will be in racing yellow. Not very good for resale but I do not care.

The turbo s is limited at 205 mph there’s a video online of the old gen turbo s with the exact same hp as this gen doing 360 plus km so that confirms the turbo s is capable of doing 350 plus km with just 640 hp and it doing 0-60 in 2.1 secs without one foot roll out just wait for the hybrid version the current turbo s already keeps up with a plaid even though the turbo s is built for corners and not straights like the plaid

991.2 turbo s owner here. I haven't seen any proof of 2.1s without 1ft rollout. Motortrend measured 2.2s, and that's after truncating the decimal places. They claimed it to be ever so slightly faster than plaid, but not 2.1s fast. Although this thing surely corners flat within 1g lateral force, gt3 and gt2 definitely have higher limit with wider tires, lower stance and (for 992) double wishbone front. So within the 911 family turbo models indeed were built for straight line speed, yet all of them have such high cornering limit and destroy 5000 lbs EVs with ease.

The quad tips are a must on a turbo

As someone who has ridden Kingda Ka (0-128mph in 3.5 seconds), I can relate to the gut punch that hits you accelerating from a standstill this fast.. You really do need to gather yourself after.

FYI, with the "no backseats" thing people think makes great cargospace: Those carbon bucket seats don't move around so much, so you have a tiny gap between the two headrests to fit something a little smaller than a carryon, so you're still not putting much there.

I think your video intros are the best in the business. The 911 turbo S is the most efficient car in terms of acceleration vs. power. You really need to review the model S Plaid! It's faster.

Model s plaid is quicker not faster the turbo s is actually capable of 220 plus mph without a limiter while the plaid only does 200 mph there’s a video of a 991.2 turbo s having the exact same hp as the 992 version doing 360 km plus

Regarding acceleration, I see you has PSM fully on. Better results would have been achieved with well warmed tires and PSM is Sport to allow for a little wheelspin. Further, C&D subtract the one-foot roll out from their acceleration numbers including 0-60mph, that is worth ~0.2 seconds, not sure if your equipment does that too.

I've seen a non-lightweight Turbo S do 0-60 in 2.4 seconds on Carwow in a drag race, and the 1/4 mile in 10.1 seconds.

You have to launch it in sport not sport plus. Sport plus gives you more drag for the track it’ll slow you down an extra .1-.2 seconds.
