Star Wars Trilogy Arcade is from 1998, Star Wars Arcade (which was ported to 32X) was originally released in arcades in 1993

Whilst I really enjoyed this video, you have missed two of the very best games released in 1993. I remember them vividly. 1. Super Street Fighter 2. The hype was insane, I remember the UK release and going to Cardiff on a Saturday to play it all day. 2. Samurai Shodown. This just blew me away and anyone else that played it at the time, also it came out of nowhere. Just a truly amazing fighter. Note: video edit required. 🤣 All jokes aside, keep up the good work, Simon.

Simple reasons for that actually! 1. Super Street Fighter II was released at the end of '93 and revised in 1994 with the superior Turbo version, so I have included it in my 1994 video (not published yet). 2. I don't include Neo Geo games, because they were released in the home at the same time, so don't count them as true arcade games. Same reason I never included any Nintendo Playchoice games. Glad you enjoyed the video anyway.

Great stuff. I forgot that Daytona and Ridge Racer hit the arcades the same year. Sega and Sony at each other's throats early in the 3d gaming landscape. Crazy times. Thanks for the content lad.

Yeah, I think people forget what a huge battle that was back in the day. Like Laird, I was more of a Daytona kinda guy.

I'd definetely put Samurai Shodown in a Top 20 for 1993! 1st beat'em up with mellee weapons! Beyond that "gimmick" just a great beat'em up even by today's standards, sooo much personality & character!

Yeah, great fighting game, but as I said elsewhere I didn't include any Neo Geo games, they are kind of a grey area.

Dungeons & Dragons: Tower Of Doom ? Premier Soccer ? Samurai Shodown ? Violent Storm ? Virtua Fighter ?

D&D Tower of Doom came out in 1994 I've never even heard of Premier Soccer and it doesn't look that special. I don't include Neo Geo games, because they were released in the home at the same time, so I don't count them as true arcade games. Violent Storm was considered, but I felt the games I included were better. You've got me on Virtua Fighter though, I'm not sure why I didn't include it because it's on my master list, big mistake there sorry.

@@TheLairdsLair Neo Geo games were true arcade games, they were released primarily for the arcades.. the home console and games were pretty expensive but you could get the arcade quality experience at home too. I never knew anyone with a Neo Geo console, and barely remember seeing them around in magazines or stores.

"The Sega PlayStation" . . . wait, what? Also, Star Wars Trilogy came out in 1998, not 1993. The clip you use even shows the copyright year as 1998.

There are 2 versions of Star Wars Trilogy, the earlier one from 1993 that also appeared on the 32X and a later improved one from 1998. I obviously used the wrong clip and didn't notice somehow.
