The 2 mutual funds that I invest in | Wali Khan

I have been passively investing in mutual funds for a long time in MCB AH mutual fund. However, recently I thought to invest in different mutual funds from what I have been investing in. I chose AKD securities based on the past results that I have seen on different websites. It has some pros and cons associated which I shall be discussed here.

I will be soon uploading a few videos on the topic of how we can earn side income - that might help. For now, if you want to keep savings in UAE, make sure you invest monthly in National bonds as it will enable you to save and prevent you from spending atleast.

Should I keep investing my future money in INPC and let it compound over time or do u suggest me something else? I personally like INPCs because their rates are pretty competitive and they're backed by SBP. Please advice

    It really depends on your long term and short term goal. I mentioned in one of the videos before - that the longest term data suggest that the best asset class is stocks and then property - then comes gold after that.... even after that fixed income... this is once you compare a 20 years period. So for now, 7% on dollar terms look great - but in long term you should resort to stocks or property. Or at least start to diversify.

    My takeaway from this video is; equity or stock market mutual funds performance is directly proportional to stock market performance - and different companies funds perform differently. I have a question. Is it right to say that the stock market 10 years from now will be above 48000 points? Is it always a trend for stock market to go up in general?

    I have a genuine query and I hope no one laughs at me. I know stock markets are supposed to grow over time, but suppose I buy mutual funds NAV for Rs. 50 today. Suppose the NAV price fluctuates but ends up at Rs. 50 after five years. Would that mean I didn't earn anything after five years (if no dividend is paid during five years)? Thanks

  • @WaliKhan_2k

    @WaliKhan_2k

    3 жыл бұрын

    Nothing to laugh here. We are all here for learning. Yes, you are right - if NAV remains same, with no dividends paid, you would actually have not earned anything. However, if you go for long term trend, the market bounce back with much higher value. But I know where you are coming from - since 2017 highs, we still have not touched the same value in Pakistan.

    There are several funds listed on mutual fund association of Pakistan. If I have to invest in funds which financial indicator is the most important? Also what is the difference between absolute return and annualized return fund?

  • @WaliKhan_2k

    @WaliKhan_2k

    2 жыл бұрын

    There is no hard and fast ranking system, however, the available data of returns and some sort of asset management company's profile let multiple agencies make the rating formula but that is not consistent. The easiest way is to find out the past returns of any fund and see if its giving consistent returns - however, past performance is not at all the guarantee of future returns. Absolute returns is mostly term used for any funds total returns in %age since inception of fund, while the annualized returns are indicating year on year average return.

    2 жыл бұрын

    if you have guaranteed 15% return on PKR with 2-3% in AED/USD terms loan - I would say you can take a bit of risk for small tenure - but these short runs can also be loss making in case the PKR falls against your expectation. Although the PKR depreciation is 5-6% annually but any given year, it can fall disproportionately - so you need to take that into consideration.
