Thanks! That was beautiful! Some facts from native russian guy: 1. Smuglianka - the love story between Russian guy and Moldovan girl. She becomes his "fighting girlfriend" in the end. This term in russian means teammate girl who is a trusted friend at first and girlfriend at second. Girl who follows you in fire, storm and war and you can trust her. There is a tank T-34 named "Fighting Girlfriend" in honor of Mariya Oktyabarskaya - USSR tankist Hero (highest battle achievement) 2. There is a hidden meaning for song Katyusha. There is a weapon called Katyusha (BM-13 artillery) which gave a big advatage in WWII to USSR forces. Song lyrics can be open out like a message to enemy with all the revenge and pain back and also a supportive message to a soldier. Katyusha was personified as "USSR women anger and support" from rear. 3. Kalinka - just a folk song about Russian nature and a guy had a crush on a girl. It's more like a state of your soul and heart deep in love. 4. The real name of this song is "Korobushka" which means "little treasure box". A song about love again. (yeah Wide Russian Soul). Guy presented a lot of beautiful gifts to a girl from his "Korobushka" but she didn't take anything except little cheap ring which symbolises her pure love to him. 5. Polyushko-polye is a song about USSR Red Army Heroes moving to the war against nazi's to defend beautiful Russian girls and nature. They ready to die and they know they can stand. They ask for a supportive loud song from girls, not tears. They want everybody to stay strong. 6. Everything is right. This song symbolises a great danger ahead. 7. This song is not supposed to be very depressive and symbolises "passing the trial" which is unbearable, hard and dangerous.But you can hear the powerful bass voice which is Russian Man hidden power that makes him invincible in any deadly situation and makes him a "One Man army". 8. Berizoka is a really old song connected with old rites. There is a rumor that this is a spell actually. So be carefull. It's not a dangerous or harmful spell, but you know, never make fun of it. 9. Oi, Moroz, Moroz (Oh, Frost, Frost) is not only a drinking a song. Man asks Frost (Yeah, like a real man with a real man) to be more soft. Because guy wants to get home faster to be closer to his jealousy wife who waits him for some time. And it's like a conversation between this Man and Frost. So yeah you can still hear drunk Russians singing this song even youngers! 10. Army song about Russian warriors spirit.

На самом деле текст песни зародился до ВОВ, и в нём изначально говорилось о временах гражданской войны. Но по каким-то причинам текст был отложен в дальний ящик, и вспомнили о нём как раз уже во времена войны с нацисткой Германией, в связи с чем она и стала ассоциироваться именно с ВОВ, а не с гражданкой. Ну и всем известный фильм уже окончательно определил эту песню в разряд периода Великой отечественной. Сам был удивлён, когда узнал об этом)

Помню всей семьёй собирались за ужином и моя мама и бабушка играли на фортепиано и пели эти песни. Так давно не слышал я этих песен, и то фортепиано. Я бы всё отдал что бы вновь быть маленьким мальчиком и сидеть за этим столом, в окружении семьи, ни о чем не думая, наслаждаться этими шедеврами. Но эти прекрасные времена никогда не вернутся. Спасибо, за то что на мгновение дали мне посидеть за тем столом, спасибо.

Russian songs often have a very deep meaning when you translate the lyrics. It’s easy to just say “yea they’re all hymns to communism!”, but once you translate the lyrics, you get to understand the deeper meaning behind them, and it makes the songs even more beautiful. I don’t blame them. Putin is not saint but I get where he’s coming from and why he did what he did. Yes, Russian soldiers are committing atrocities. Who’s to say the Ukrainians would not do the same if they were the ones invading Russia. Many Russian soldiers have been executed as well. Poor conscripts who just want to go home to their families are mainly the ones I’m talking about. Ukraine deserves the invasion. Not the people. The people are innocent. But the government is not.

I love Russian folk songs and music by Russian composers. A lot of the time, there's such a beautiful melancholic feel to them. I refer to it in German as "die schwere russische Seele" (the heavy Russian soul, as in gloomy/melancholic). Anyway, well done, the transitions from one song to the next are so seamless!

Gloomy\melancholic? Hmm yes seems so. It's mostly because Russia has large destance between cities and settlements filled with fields, plains and swamps, and this feel when you stay at the edge of road and see nothing but fields or wild forest is simultaneously inspiring and melancholic. Check lyrics, this songs almost always about love\fields and freedom\war\sorrow. As we know, many people of art inspires by nature, so this tipe of nature builds that mood. When you feel yourself free but so tiny and lonely (english is not my native)

Another example: you can describe an object in one word, find out its gender, the speaker's attitude to it and I believe that's not all

Первая версия тетриса издавалась на западе с нарушением авторских прав, но дабы подчеркнуть то, откуда эта игра, в ней присутсвовало куча вещей, которые на западе ассоциацировались с СССР на то время. PS: сам автор тетриса, на предложение об издательстве за пределами СССР, отреагировал намëком, что ему нравится предложение (лучше посмотри в одном видео и серии "История российской игровой индустрии" на канале Булджать и это не реклама его).

Yup. Alcohol is tool of denial reality. if your life is shit, and you have no options to progress as a person then you probably start to drink. As you know, life in Russia not great at all, not in all regions, but in novadays in this situation peoples prefer to play videogames and alcohol becomes a party attribute or amusement for teenagers who are trying to look like adults. In addition, the drinking of vodka in absurd quantities is condemned by society and considered cool only in close circles of drunkards. So yeah, russians are not big alcoholics than other nations

Композитор Яков Пригожий, поэт Николай Некрасов. Полюшко-поле: 1933 год. Композитор Лев Книппер, поэт Виктор Гусев. Ой, то не вечер: народная песня уральских казаков. Её самая ранняя версия была записана в 1880 годах со слов старого казака. Эй, ухнем: народная песня, её обработал композитор Милий Балакирев в 1866 году. @@coreyrusso890 Все несколько более связано чем просто певучесть. Все эти застольные или просто хоровые песни исполнялись в кругу людей, зачастую близко знакомых. Сейчас же большую часть времени люди проводят наедине с собой. В интернете, в работе еще где-то, понятие семьи и родственных отношений тоже размывается. В итоге и приводит к уходу таких традиций, но будь уверен, говорю как очевидец, в закоулках России в селах, поселках и прочих мелких поселениях где все друг-друга знают и если ты куда-то пропал, вся улица наверняка будет знать где ты в это время был. В таких местах еще живы такого рода традиции и застольные песни. Да и простой поход в гости никто не отменял) Сам вспомни когда ты последний раз ходил к кому-то в гости "как в детстве с родителями" )

Yeh, especially Kalinka and Beryozka. This is songs about plants standing to a war. Korobeiniki is a capitalist's war song over greedy yet naive costumers, Moroz is the song of love toward being frozen to death and Burlaks is the song of love toward hard slavery work. Sure thing.

On their way, he was riding with a soldier on a horse and wagon. The soldier kept singing Katyusha. At a slope, the soldier disbanded, and my grandfather was left there on the wagon, watching the rockets fly over Berlin.

These are great pieces of music, but they are "folk" only in the sense of being enormously popular among people; most of the songs have the authors of both - the music and the lyrics.

1. Smuglianka. - (This is a song about everyone). But the song is about how a girl and a guy broke up . And how unexpectedly they met in the same group of partisans. 4 . Korobeiniki - The song "Korobeiniki" is based on the poem of the same name by Nikolai Nekrasov, which was first published in Sovremennik magazine in 1861. Her increasing tempo and the associated dance style led to her quickly becoming a popular Russian folk song.
