Still sucks about that 2011 divisional though, our defense didn’t give Rodgers much help at all in that game as they let up 37 points (including a hail mary at the end of the first half). Also Jennings dropped a TD that was right in his hands, Kuhn fumbled one drive, we fumbled on a punt return in the first quarter that led to points for the Giants, etc. Looking back at that game again, Rodgers really did play like the MVP he was minus a couple missed throws and a strip sack. Shout out Sid Luckman's 1943 season. It was against plumbers and firemen, but his numbers were still just absurd. He had 10 Yd/Att, 13% TD percentage, both still standing NFL records. It was only a 10 game season, but if you stretch out his numbers to 16 games he would've thrown for 3590 yards, 46 TDs, and 19 ints. IN THE 1940s. He then dominated Washington in the championship game, throwing for 286 yards, 5 tds, and 0 ints.

Their defense was ranked outside of the top10 in yards allowed and was barely top10 in scoring. You must be thinking of the previous year, 2011-12 where they were overall 3rd ranked. Also, if we're comparing Flacco's defenses to Montana's. It's not like Montana didn't have top4 defenses basically his entire career on the 49ers. (I believe he had 8 top4 defenses from 1981-90. BARRY LORE - PART 1 In the whimsical realm of Sports commentary, where touchdowns and tackles reign supreme, there emerges the legendary figure known as Barry McCockiner, the witty bard who represents integrity in all its forms. It is said that Barry's origins trace back to a gridiron clash between rival teams, where he was born clutching a football in one hand and a microphone in the other, as if destiny itself had ordained him to narrate the absurdities of the league as we have come to know it. While swatting cannabis cigarettes from the mouths of pregnant women, a beam of light began to shine down on him, and a voice - firm, but caring, uttered these words to him: “You are the one who I have chosen to bring balance to this world.” With a newfound sense of purpose, Barry began to hone his craft by juggling flaming footballs and crafting puns sharper than Tom Brady’s Jawline post surgery. While traversing the dangerous streets of Philadelphia, a man in an all black suit approached him. “We’ve watched your career with great interest. Tell me, son, have you ever heard the legend of Factor?” Barry, unsure of how to proceed, turned to his wife’s boyfriend for advice……

Bro 2011 Drew Brees has to be on here. 5,476 yards. 46 TDs to 14 INTs. A then NFL Record 71.2 % completion percentage. In other words he won the QB triple crown. He also completed 468 passes which at that point was also an NFL record while setting the completion percentage mark. He threw for 300+ yards in 13 of 16 games also an NFL record. And he wasn’t just dinking and dunking. He was 4th in yards per attempt. He was #2 in QB Rating behind only Rodgers. And in my opinion he was the best QB in the 2011 playoffs. Bro put up 460+ yards in both games plus 7 TDs. Yes he did have a few turnovers especially in the SF game but they had a lot of players injured that game so he was forced to throw the ball. Ingram was hurt. Pierre Thomas got hurt. Lance Moore was out. But he did still have Colston, Graham, and Sproles and those three cut up. I might also add that the Saints set the NFL record for most yards gained in a season. Then in the playoffs dropped another 627 yards on Detroit and 472 against the #1 defense of the 49ers with Brees having 462 yards that afternoon. Listen I’ve seen lots of great QB play and this list is valid but I fail to see how his 2011 season isn’t one of the greatest ever. He was just barely worse than Rodgers in my opinion and performed significantly better in the playoffs.

The thing that’s most impressive about Dan Marino’s 1984 season that wasn’t mentioned in this video is that he put up those kinds of numbers during an era where there weren’t all these rules to handcuff the defense. Quarterbacks were still fair game and could get the absolute hell knocked out of them and so could the receivers. If prime Dan Marino could play in the NFL today, he’d likely put up 7,000 yards and 60 touchdown passes in a season.

Nailed it! Montana in 1989, and Niners on a whole was the best I’ve ever seen. In the playoffs they beat the Vikings who were the #1 ranked defense that season, and the Broncos were the #1 scoring defense

You should add sections in your video. Because if people only want to see one particular season they probably won’t be willing to sit through a 23 minute stats video. Good content bro👍

Especially since he's counting playoff performance lol at least Brees won a game and then put up huge numbers in that loss to the 49ers...which was far closer than Rodgers' loss to the Giants in the same round. I'm a Packers fan btw

I agree with your entire list barry, but the only thing I would say you could possibly change is to put Kurt Warner’s 99 season ahead of Steve Young’s 94 because his value in the regular season AND postseason are both higher, plus he did that as a backup coming in for trent green not a named starter.

Would be interesting to see how some of the lesser known or forgotten great seasons stack up in terms of added value. 2015 Carson Palmer, prime Dan Fouts, 1998 Randall Cunningham, 2002 Rich Gannon or Brett Favre in his MVP stretch.

22:34 Wouldn't really say Montana had the best QB postseason. Numbers wise, maybe, but I'd easily put 2012 Joe Flacco above him just because of the degree of difficulty (He had to beat the colts, broncos, pats and 49ers, who were all powerhouses). They both had 11-0 TD-INT ratio, so degree of difficulty is my tiebreaker. Flacco's defense stunk it up vs the broncos and 49ers and he had to do his part. Whereas Montana's defense didn't allow more than 13 points in the playoffs that season, he basically just had to go through the motions.

Honestly, the only real issue I see with this statistic is that it is pretty much dependent on the entire season being played out. It’s a very interesting and effective way of valuing a quarterback based on passing.

It is easier 100% to put up stats now but having Mahomes 2021 at just 10 is insane, most total yards of all time, mvp, sbmvp, clean playoffs, with a mediocre offense, with really only 2-3 other pro bowl caliber guys, 2 of which were lineman, yea idk maybe the adjusted net yards per competition stat didn’t say he had that great of a season but accolades wise it’s probably at least top 3 all time
