Honestly the heartbreak of a goal line interception to end a Super Bowl is probably the worst, because the fans in the players have their hopes up until the very last second to have it dashed away by the evil empire.

Idk, at that point you have both hope and despair, since fate is on the fence. But, losing 28-3 etc is having hope and nothing but it, for it to be completely destroyed

As a lifelong Atlanta Falcons fan, I'm not sure there is any NFL fan base that knows pain quite like we do, to have defeat snatched from the jaws of victory time and time again. In my mind 28-3 was more painful, just because that game was years in the making for our franchise and the past few seasons had all been building towards this one moment, only to have it all taken away from us over the course of those last 30 minutes.

Minor correction at around 17:25: Super Bowl 52 was not the highest scoring Super Bowl. That distinction belongs to Super Bowl 29 (52 had 74 points scored [Eagles 41 + Patriots 33], 29 had 75 points scored [49ers 49 + Chargers 26]). Super Bowl 52 was the most “offensive” one though, as the two teams combined for over 1150 yards of offense (which I believe is a record for all games). Great video though, very entertaining!

I think being number one just adds more pressure. You're expected to win against lower seeds even though they may have only a slightly worse record. Sometimes it's just a team solidifying at the right time, giants and packers are notable examples when they won. The bengals from the year before were impressive too even if they got beat by the rams, not sure if anyone expected them to be good with burrow coming off that knee injury and making the horrible mistake of drafting chase instead of that offensive lineman. that's why I don't give af what all those so called analysts say.

I'll never forget the excitement that came with the goal line interception against Seattle, ran around the house in circles yelling "interception" because just a moment before I was saying "are they really gonna lose another one after another improbable catch?!" So my disappointment turned to excitement in what seemed like a millisecond. And then the 28-3 comeback... Man, I've never sunk so low in my chair after that pick 6. Felt absolutely over. The comeback... Edelman's crazy catch, the toss to White in OT, Brady pulling out the stops only he can... So grateful to have watched it all!

Both of these are both heart wrenching, agonizing ways of having victory in your hands just for it to slip out of your hands, but the difference is that the Seahawks actually had a much more sizable chance to win in the final seconds of regulation, while the Falcons were basically screwed by the flip of a coin.

I've been saying this for years now (I'm a Bill's fan). It doesn't matter what seat you get, or your record. It's all about getting hot during the playoffs. And usually it's about being dominant in one area, and being average to good in everything else. And typically one of those "good position groups" step it up in the Playoffs and that team wins the Superbowl.

Ravens-Titans is not talked about enough. It should definitely be considered a rivalry, seeing how they met 4 times in the playoffs recently (and maybe again this season).

great video! as a lifelong, die hard Eagles fan this season has been sensational but my playoff expectations are tempered. we have a young coach and QB. hopefully this is the start of a ten year run of playoff appearances and if we happen to win one or two rings during that span I will be more than grateful. Championships are tough to come by in any professional sport.

In my opinion, blowing a 25 point lead like the Falcons is worse than a goal line interception. All you had to do is run the ball and drain the clock.

Both losses are humiliating for sure, but only one has a title to it. Like “The Tortoise and the Hare”, all you have to say is “28-3” & people instantly know what you’re talking about.

Blowing a 23 point lead in the SB is worse then 1 dumb play on the goal line to cost the game. ATL could have just let the clock run down every play and ran the ball in the 2nd half and NE wouldn't of had enough possessions to make their comeback. Instead ATL decided to throw pick 6s and throw incompletions which took no time off the clock and gave NE enough possessions to get back in the game and win.

The goal line interception is worse for sure for 3 reasons. 1. I am a Seahawks Fan. This was heartbreaking 2. The play before this totally got overshadowed (The crazy Kearse Catch) 3. Fan had hope we were winning, untill the last play.

The goaline had much more damage as a Seahawks fan. We lost the LOB because of it. This also showed Pete Carolls intent to favor Russ over his defense which used to be the other way around. And we never made it halfway to the Super Bowl since. Not to mention the heart attack when I saw the play. This ruined our team because Russel Wilson was a system QB who sucks in the pocket which is why in Denver he can’t do anything. Mostly because of his height. He can’t roll out of the pocket anymore.

Pretty much all of those players walked in free agency. Yeah, the play call was atrocious, but saying they left the team solely because of the play isn't telling the whole story.

  • @Paul-vf2wl

This favoring Russ idea is a product of the childishness and greed of the LOB players it's not based in reality. Belichick just outsmarted the Seahawks coaches. That pass play was their go to goal line play they were something like 9-0 that year using it. When Belichick decided not to call a timeout with 28 seconds left he made the coaches rush their decision and they ran the play the Patriots had practiced stopping all week.

I’d probably say the goal line interception. 28-3 game you could tell by the mid 4th something was gonna happen lol. But in Super Bowl 49 when I saw Jermaine Kearse make that incredible catch, I thought the Seahawks had the game in the bag especially since Marshawn was in the backfield.

Watch the end of the 2020 Seahawks v Patriots game. The way I see it, if we brought out Lynch, that would've happened. You can say "best running back of the decade" all you want, there's no way you can get through every single defensive lineman bunching up like that.
