The fastest way to lose half your audience. In this day and age it's better to stay away from all things political if you care about subscriber count. You cannot win no matter the side or if you are right or wrong. Hell, you may have already lost viewers from the choice of t-shirt your son wore. As someone that worked in Federal government for 30 years, I understand the hesitation. He had to determine all the angles that things could go including out of context clips. The hesitation is not 'deer in headlights', it's calculated thought and risk management decision making. People that haven't been in that situation have no f'n clue.

Long time subscriber here. One of the things I love about your content is that it's an escape from all the other garbage. Please keep the politicians out of it. That's my vote.

Twin Cities=Politicians. Millennial Farmer=Car racing, farming ,shooting sports, raising a family. I'd stick with option #2 cause you've hit the nail on the head.

As a Canadian who grew up just north of you, I highly agree with keeping the politics out. I so much enjoy following you and your content and also my fellow Canadian farmers' channels (Mike Mitchell and South Sask Farmer) and really appreciate how hard you all work to "feed" all your fellow citizens and others across the world. Lately a communist movance in Canada has been at work to try and seize farm land and curb access to pesticides and fertilizers ... Electricians, teachers and accountants vote for these choices ... Friend of Mine also a farmer here in Germany, said t his local member of the Bundestag (German parliament) if you want to talk to farmers do the following: take 2 two weeks of. Bring a pencil and a piece of paper with you go to the farmers and talk to them. Write down what they say and leave all the cameras and journalists behind you. And if you are back in Berlin, take all your notes and what you have learned and do your fucking job. Make politics for the people you stand for.

Zach- I love this channel. I never miss a video. You brilliantly bring the very, very important things which farmers do to the attention of all the rest of us who have no idea. You're funny, smart, accomplished, and you have a terrific and beautiful family. It is one of the few places we can go these days to get away from the constant drumbeat of politics and division. Please, please leave politics out of it....

The facts are facts. Iowa taxpayers paid for a fertilizer plant to keep prices competitive. The fantastic people at Koch Industries is trying to buy the plant for $3.6 billion. Of course if they are successful they absorb a competitor and the farmers fertilizer costs will go even higher. So their only hope is that the president the Millennial Farmer despises and let’s his kid wear a shirt degrading will recommend it is a violation of anti trust laws and the courts will block the sale. That won’t happen if Trump is elected. So yeah it kinda pisses me off when your Dad wears a shirt asking for support but you trash the people that can help and are actually being supportive.

If the governor wants to commentate on your channel then he should comment on it in his own forum. You have worked long and hard to not politicize the channel. I think sticking to that recipe is a better idea than the alternative. As other viewers have pointed out there is also the Podcast. I think that would be a better place for the governor's visit. To be fair, a lot of people who are just doing their job are not gonna want to be on KZread. About 5 years ago I had a surgery and they pulled about three feet of my intestines out and it was cancer but I didn’t have to do any chemo or anything and that was 5 years thank you Jesus so I am a happy well adjusted older fellow but right after about 3 years ago when my mom got sick that all I did was watch your videos I swear you and Chet kinda got me through a rough couple of years and would just like to thank you. Hope it’s a great season but it’s been a weird season this year so good luck.

yup important farming stuff but glad to see your priorities are right, Jim is back great to see him and the girls in the back seat keep you on track when cruising around. Golly whatever you decide about the gov, is your choice but a tuff one. I will watch no matter what. He has sort of put you in a no win situation.

From an outsider's perspective, having politicians visit farmers is always a sketchy thing. They're merely looking for good PR, that's it.

The politicians visiting farms are looking for fields to spread their BS on. But Zach doesn't have livestock, so perhaps some all organic BS would help those tissue samples!

Zach, you have too good of a channel to get bogged down in politics. We all have too much of that crap already. Remind Onyx someday he ll be an old man too! Keep up the the great work.

My personal opinion on the politician segment can be summed up thusly. When he asked if we could have the conversation while not recording my response would have been "if I cant record my content while we are talking then this conversation is over" So yes that was all the content I needed.

I’ve been watching this channel for a number of years now and I along with my family love this content. It transports you from reality for a little bit and lets us take a sneak leak into a life most of us don’t have and it’s awesome.i along with probably most of us all vote the same way from the looks of it but if it matters keep this politics free. World has enough of this bs getting thrown into our faces whether we like it or not. P.S. Where’s the American flag on the top of the bins!!!!!!

Far as the the governor goes, don’t do it, what ever would be said will get bent, miss quoted, and/or misinterpreted. Save your self the hassle

Zach, I consider you and your family part of my family as I have watched you a long time. I love the channel because it is free of the political views.
