I'll give you no autotune, but "no fancy studio work" dramatically undersells how studios worked in the 80s and 90s before things moved to a mostly digital workflow. Racks upon racks of outboard gear, massive and complex consoles, a dozen different types of mic pres, complicated patch bays; a guy whose only job was to "punch in" during tracking sessions. Multiple assistants and studio employees managing tracking sessions; mix and mastering engineers pre-Pro Tools and Logic Pro? Forget it. Btw, I totally get what you were trying to say here; it's just crazy how far the industry has come. Recordings have much better fidelity and can truly capture the timbre and tonal qualities of every instrument, and yet almost every track is processed so heavily it no longer sounds like the original instrument -- not just autotune for vocals, but drum tracking is almost always done with triggers to replace live drums with midi libraries; guitars are re-amped and never sound like they did through the guitarist's original amp (possibly losing "their tone" in the process). And yet, with all that technology, music has completely lost its soul. Shame.

I love watching first-timers to music like this. I grew up with music like this. The 80's 'Big-Hair Bands'... They taught us that... Sometimes we're happy. Sometimes we're sad. Sometimes we're mad. Sometimes we're right. Sometimes we're wrong. How we feel changes ever five minutes. We aren't perfect, but we can love someone else regardless. That's what makes us beautiful, our beautiful imperfections. I really hope you enjoy this, and get to appreciate other great music from these time periods.

🥰Beautiful reaction!!! If you want to get to know Skid Row and the greatness of Sebastian Bach (lead singer) better... please check out the live performance of this song in Wembley Stadium 1991 (they were there with Guns n Roses)... it's a real treat with Seb's opening commentary and his INSANE vocal play mid-song. It will blow your mind!!🤯😊 Peace and light...💞

If you had asked me about watching videos of people reacting to their first time hearing a song I've known for well over 30 years, I'd say you were out of your damned mind...and yet here I am, watching them regularly. It's quite interesting to see others react to a beloved song, kind of as if we were experiencing it as well thru you. I can't tell you why this appeals to me, but dammit, it DOES.

WASTED TIME BY SKID ROW IS A MUST! Seriously if you want to hear how amazing Sebastian's voice really is you have to check that one out! It's kind of a sad song too. It was written about Sebastian's good friend Steven Adler, the original drummer of Gun's n Roses. He got addicted to heroin and his playing got so bad he was fired from Gun's n Roses. In 1996 Steven suffered a stroke after taking a speedball which is a mixture of heroin and cocaine. He was in a coma but survived. He had paralysis on one side of his face and a lisp. He's he's battled with his Addictions ever since but he seems to be doing okay these days. He still plays drums he's been in a couple of bands. And in 2016 he actually got to play a couple of shows with Guns and Roses again. I don't want to give away my age and how old I am. But I saw Skid Row open up for Aerosmith at Nassau Coliseum here on Long Island back in January of 1990. I was 14 years old lol. Then I saw Sebastian Bach in the Broadway show Jekyll and Hyde back in 1997. The man can sing his ass off! But man this song brings me back to my first serious girlfriend when I was a teenager 😂

Sebastian Bach has one of the most powerful rock voices ever. He is basically the definition of what an 80's hard rock frontman should be like. 🤟😝 Most of the band members are from NJ ... although Bach was born in Jamaica and grew up in Canada. 😉 Thanks for the reaction! Oh, and check out "18 and Life" by them. The video is excellent.

I've always wished I found someone else who also made me feel like this song. Sadly, hasnt happened. Just the one did. (No she wasnt my first love) we're actually still good friends shes now happily married almost 20 years with 4 kids and admits she still misses me sometimes.

Sebastian Bach had the most powerful and soulful vibrato. I heard from a good source that the producer pushed him so hard during the recording of this album, where Sebastian kept running out of the studio crying because he was pushed to his limits. I watched a few of your videos and this one made me subscribe. I shared your emotions while you were listening. I’m a touring sound engineer btw -Navajo Nate AZ-
