Brad Delp was one of the greatest rock vocalists who ever lived. 🎤He was a tortured soul who unfortunately took his own life in 2007. He has been sorely missed ever since.

Brad played in a cover band Beatle Juice They played Beatles songs all night at Mosley's on the Charles in Dedham Ma I went up to him and asked if he would play Across the Unverise he looked to the heavens and said I love Across the Unverise with a smile, next song was up and the world moved on

@@31carrier So many talk about Brad's voice, but as you experienced, his smile and heart were even better. What a beautiful, gentle, humble, and caring soul. He was my college roommate's neighbor when he lived in Londonderry, I got to know him a little after 3rd Stage when RTZ was starting to pull together and would run into him around New England over the years. I last saw him about a year after his accident and not long before he left us. I do miss him.

50 years. Man where has the time go. We old, music is younger than we are. Lol
Boston is a great American rock band who had their biggest success in the 70's-80's. They had a lot of great songs such as "Foreplay/Long Time", "Peace Of Mind", "Rock & Roll Band", "Don't Look Back", "A Man I'll Never Be", "Feelin' Satisfied", Smokin'", "We're Ready", "Amanda", "Hitch A Ride", "Hollyann", "Cool The Engines" etc.

Yeah, of your suggestions I'd narrow it down to three for a follow-up. "Foreplay / Longtime" - Overall composition and musicianship "Amanda" - If she's diggin the harmonies here, "Amanda" takes it up notch. "Peace of Mind" - We know she loves a good groovy vibe, lol... nice bluesy guitar section, but up-beat. They're all great songs, but those are the three I think would hit her the hardest.

RIP Brad Delp, one of the greatest rock vocalists ever. Incidentally this song has won numerous polls for best rock song of all time and the story of how Tom Scholz basically created the entire album by himself (except for the vocals) in his basement is legendary. Also, this is '70s rock at its finest. This album was released in 1976 and yes, they were from Boston.

great reaction aileen... over 47 years ago (i.e. september 19, 1976) boston debut self titled album was released. the stunning title track "more than a feeling" took five years for the musical genius tom scholz to complete while working his day job as an engineer for polaroid. the arrangement and all the creative musical instruments were performed by scholz in his studio except for the drums which were developed by jim masdea and played by sib hashian. the lyrics are based on losing someone close and how music allows one to connect to memories from the past. all vocals (lead and backup) where provided by the late brad delp. the album became one of the biggest success stories of the 1970s and still considered one of the best rock albums ever... since the music was entirely created in studio, tom actually put a band together afterwards in order to go on tour. crazy what effect one person's dream can have so many others through music. enjoy and have a good week 😎

This first Boston album is widely regarded to be one of the best debut albums in rock music history. You will probably get a lot of suggestions to work your way through it in sequence. Because this is literally the first song on their first album and this whole album is fire. And you will hear so much variety in it, and you will come to recognize their specific sound, and there is so much good bass guitar playing on some of these songs, and everybody was wonderful. I got to see them as a youngster in 77 and 78, and they were absolutely fantastic shows both times. I have seen several reactors do this after playing this first song, and it is fascinating to watch them fall in love with Boston.

When I was in high school I live and worked in a town North of Boston for a landscaper. On Fridays, we used to cut the lawn next to the drummer of Boston, Sib Hashian (R.I.P.)… We would plan so we were eating lunch on the curb on those sunny and warm Fridays. The band would rehearse at his home and we would just sit and listen… Thanks for the warm reminder of this very sentimental memory. Fun reaction and review 👊🏻 Oh, and how about four octave Brad Delp (R.I.P.)
You just put this album on and listen from beginning to end. Every song is "wow!" with a sound we had never heard the likes of before. Easily among the top rock albums of all time.

You may not know this but the riff to this song inspired one of the most well known songs Smells Like Teen Spirits.
Growing up in the sixties and seventies, and uni in the early eighties was the best. I was immersed in the best music that was ever going to be. Fun Fact- Brad Delp did a vocal backer with the guitar after the line "slipped away." If you listen to the isolated vocal track you'll hear it. Brad Delp's voice is so powerful and beautiful. The band's synchronization on all fronts is what all bands need to aspire to. Who else LOVED playing this song on Guitar Hero 1?
One of the greatest rock and roll bands of all time! I had the pleasure of seeing them live in the late 1970s and early 1980s at Redrocks Amphitheater in Colorado! They were truly amazing!!! Thank you for the reaction video, Aileen. I always enjoy your commentary.
Boston had some great music. It always warms my heart to see a younger generation discover the music I grew up with. Boston had some real rockers, but my favorite song of theirs was a ballad: "Amanda." It's well worth a listen. Loved your reaction, young lady.
More Than a Feeling is one of the most iconic massive hit singles of the 1970s. It was all over the radio in 1976. The entire Boston debut album is fantastic, one of the best debut albums ever. Every song is good. The guitarist playing that searing lead, Tom Scholz, was a creative tech genius who went to MIT and literally created his own guitar technology. Great to see younger generations feel the joy I did at 16 years old when this came out (I immediately bought the album). A soundtrack album to my HS years. Your next song from this album should be Foreplay/Long Time. Just a tip....always best to pick the album version of great songs like this. This was the SHORTER radio edit. The full album version is 4:45 long. Always check the sources!
Welcome to the first single release off the biggest selling debut album of a group of all time. The entire album is KILLER !!! Check out other songs from the album, "PEACE OF MIND", "FOREPLAY/LONG TIME", "ROCK N ROLL BAND", "SMOKIN" etc etc.
One of my favorite songs and videos! Love it!
Foreplay/Longtime, Peace of Mind and Amanda are great Boston songs. You know who I have been meaning to recommend. Since you love harmony’s the original Harmony Supergroup from the 60’s. Crosby, Stills and Nash and sometimes Young!! It was a group comprised of great singers from “The Hollies” (Graham Nash), “The Byrds” (David Crosby RIP) and “Buffalo Springfield” (Stephen Stills, Neil Young. See if you can find a version of “Suite Judy Blue Eyes” from Woodstock ‘69. They have tons of great songs and kept reuniting for tours throughout the last 6 decades. They are absolutely awesome. You should definitely give them a listen. “Teach Your Children”, “Love the One Your With”, “The Cost Of Freedom” and “Carry on” are my personal favorites. They have about 20 more great songs as well. Please add them to your playlist you will be happy you did.
i may fall in love here
The first time he does that sustained "awaaaaaay" and then goes even higher you can see the exact moment Aileen feel in love with his voice! Muh favorite Boston song is Something About You followed by Hitch a Ride. Any Boston song you do will be a treat though and I hope there's many more to come!
Every song on this their debut album is undeniably a hit
I've been around and played bands as a guitarist, 64 years and I've never heard a voice as powerful and prolonged as Brad Delp's.. I understand this was mixed in a basement by one of the bands members who was into that stuff..But the kicker is, they could deliver as good playing LIVE !!! RIP Brad , your missed.
RIP Brad Delp one of the cleanest singers of all time .Glad i got to see them live back in the day
Such a cool and awesome song that brings back memories of being a kid back in the early 80's. Warm summers, playing tag until dark, hanging outside with my friends, playing wiffle ball in the back yard, going to pool and the park every day. Riding my bike across town with my friends to the video game arcade to play so many awesome games! So, much fun. This song was played so much and we all loved it and it was just such a great song. I feel like you have an old soul and would have loved the 80's, it really was a magical time. There was a ton going on that I could write a book about, but from the viewpoint of a 10-13 year old kid just enjoying the summers was magical in a lot of ways. It feels like it was several life times ago. I really miss a lot of that time of my life, despite all the stuff that I was going through. Check out Slaughter and Fly to the Angels, such a great song. Great review as usual and keep up the great work! Cya. (A smile on his face, he waves and walks out of the room, the door closing gently behind him).
First of all…great reaction to a great song! Two of my favorite songs from Boston are “A Man I’ll Never Be” and “Amanda”. The vocals and guitar playing in both of these are insanely well done! I’m sure you would absolutely LOVE THEM ❤
Please check out “Foreplay&LongTime” back to back they are meant to be played together. This is my Dad’s favorite band along with CCR. Lead singer of Boston is a MIT grad and literal mechanical genius. He engineered groundbreaking studio equipment. This first album was originally recorded in his basement on his own equipment.
I love seeing people realize how epic Boston is
Awesome reaction here!

I would have been around 10 or 12 years old when I first heard this song and it was on a record player back in those days which was amazing sound on the right speed of rotation and a good needle on the stylus and a clean nonscratched vinyl record, you just can’t beat that sound unless live and listening to the band, Amazing, thank you for listening to them
Everyone I know of who listens to 70's and 80's rock and roll say they grew up in the wrong era. I was fortunate enough to live through it and attend just about every band of that era's concert to see them live. I don't think modern music has the same soul as it did back then but maybe its just me.

Aileen I must admit extreme pride on my part for I saw Boston Live on their first world tour! Brad Delp's voice live was so crazy good! The world lost and incredible singer when he passed... Being a 16 year old during this time was so damn cool! The MUSIC was so damn GOOD! I LOVE how this music grabs your heart, you are someone special...
My favorites of Boston are Don't look back, Amanda, Foreplay/Long Time. All of Boston's songs are good though what a great band. Thanks for the reaction.
You have only scratched the surface..!! Boston is one of only a handful of bands that literally NEVER released a bad song..!! The songs were also mixed and mastered in their own studio..!! Wow! Brings me back to middle school. This always played on the radio and I burned out my vinyl hearing it sooo many times.
Something About You and Peace of Mind, both outstanding Boston songs.
This is the song that Nirvana got their riff for "Smells Like Teen Spirit" from. There's a live performance of Kurt Cobain singing More Than A Feeling over his smells like a Teen Spirit song on stage.
This is what the '70s was all about. Chilling to this awesome song - a perfect way to begin one's day in a convertible with this at 11. Classic is an understatement. Glad you finally got to this one :D xoxo
Welcome to the first song everybody ever heard from this band. One of if not the best Debut album by any band in history not a bad song on it.
The secret ingredient is the clap. Boston is one of my favorite bands I'm still listening since teen in 80's.
So many tracks by Boston are worth listening to. Particularly. Foreplay/longtime off the first album Boston. . Just amazing. Btw, All the music was written and played by Tom Scholz who founded Boston. He plays every instrument you can hear. Brad phelps was brought in to do the vocals. The man is a genius. The band was put together after the albums was made in order to take the music out on the road. Love you reactions as ever. 😊
That is the radio version of the song. The album version has another verse before the solo. Every song on the first two albums are all great songs. I would recommend Foreplay/Long Time, Piece of mind, and feeling satisfied as the next songs to react to.
Love your reactions! My Boston favorite is HITCH A RIDE. The layered guitar work is AMAZING. ROCK & ROLL BAND is another great tune about them on the rise...love it.
Boston is fabulous, and I played their first Eight Track many times over during the 70s.
Arena Rock, Boston, Chicago, Europe, Asia(never realized how many countries back then), Journey, and the rest, called Arena Rock because they filled stadiums, 150,000 seats, and they still had lines out the door.
