Yep, "Grim Grinning Ghosts" at the beginning. The puppy interlude was so cute. Honestly, the best reactors are those with a crush on Geoff -- they say what the rest of us are thinking.

I just noticed for the first time after who knows how many viewing, Eli is dressed as a rooster. So funny. Kid is Layne's nephew.

Geoff is a pineapple, Layne is a cactus, J is CatDog, and Earl and Eli are Cow and Chicken, respectively. CatDog and Cow and Chicken were Nickelodeon cartoon shows.

As keen as we are on Geoff’s vocals, I’m kind of surprised you didn’t mention his ‘segmented drone’ (for lack of a better phrase. As a baritone/bass myself it is really easy for repeated monotone notes to flatten the sound of a group. But he stayed firmly on track and never wavered. That said, I love your analyses and reactions. You even help me pick up things I miss when (re)listening to a track. Keep up the fantabulous work!

this was the one that made me fall hard & fast for VoicePlay. fun fact: some years ago I'd stumbled upon their Grim Grinning Ghosts, thought it was groovy, and added it to my faves without thinking to note who it was sung by. fast forward a couple of years, and I stumbled upon this one (destiny!!!!), thought a few of the faces & voices looked/sounded familiar, and sure enough! I fell right down that Halloween rabbit hole, and have never looked back. DESTINY!

Anyone notice Geoff flip off j none when he’s turning into the werewolf?

When the Charismatic Voice was interviewing Layne, he said that filming this video took forever because they slowly made the transformations and would film as they went. I think he said it took over 8 hours (but I would have to go back to the interview to hear him say the exact amount).
