After last's weeks 90 degree temperatures, we are headed into the deep freeze! Or at least it feels like it. Most of our garden is a week or two a head from the unseasonably warm weather. Tonight there are frost warnings in many areas, so Cover it up! This video shows how we cover our garden to protect from frost. How do you cover it up? Using dirt on the small corn works great. Any ideas for our taller corn? If the wind will die down (not likely in southern Idaho) we might try and tarp it, although the wind usually means a little warmer temperatures, and a lighter frost. Happy gardening and watch your weather! We find weather.gov is the most accurate in our area. If in doubt we get up about 3 am to check the temperature and cover if needed.
