KIX is Sooooooooooooooooooooo underappreciated. The Best live act . You are welcome Brett Michaels for you "Entire" stage show. KIX played a gig in LA back in the 80's where Michaels' attended a KIX show and literally stole Steve's entire show as well as KIXs' show. Don't take my word for it, look it up.

You rock, Buck! Your band wrote some incredible songs, and on the road, from 1976 to 1978, you pioneered the absolute best live shows using your incredibly expensive lasers that sent everyone home with temporary blindness!!! Sandy should have sent those lasers on the road with Romeo Void, back in the 80's. Rest in Peace, Sandy. Thanks do much for the music, Buck!

I consider him one of the '75%' best. He is an amazing player, but some drawbacks like ..often slightly out of tune in live settings. Buck Dharma I would put at '95% best', very rarely out of tune or out of time, sings, and has some of the most amazing solos if you know which songs to listen to.

I've never heard anyone call BOC stoner rock. Some probably do, idk it's a bastardized term. I think they are their own genre. Just the eclectic sound, brilliant songwriting and influences it's impossible to put them in a genre. You can only speak in descriptions. Perhaps something like occult acid rock with prog and goth elements. Still does not quite suffice. Thats what makes them so cool and legendary. Everybody has their own definition of BÖC.

Pink Zeppelin Cult I would say it's not 80's metal it's pre NBWOHM metal. Hard rock with a dark edge. To me thats what defined true metal from crap like poison and Bon Jovi. Metal has an inherent darkness to it, and thats one of its defining characteristic. BOC with songs about drug deals going bad, MC clubs, "my heart is black and my lips are cold" come on that's metal. But agree BOC are early era and are influenced by all kinds of music. The psyche era definitely impacting the sound but this is part of what makes them so cool. And the music is ripe with humor and ingenious lyric writing seen in very few bands, thanks to all the outside people who helped make this group what it was to become. Folks like Metzer, Pearlman. Smith, Moorcock and the list goes on.

The man himself said they’re not really a “metal band.” They truly pre-date what most would recognize as “metal.” Listen to some of their old stuff and they’re definitely an East Coast product of the San Francisco scene. They were the quintessential “hard rock” band and are frequently critically described as “blues rock.” This is not to say BoC lacks metal elements or metal songs, but they are both proto-metal and beyond metal. They’re a “rock-and-roll” band.

I love these guys, I loved this show, and I usually can handle some of their insight, although Eddie's opinions lately sound more like an old man who doesn't get it as opposed to the industry insider that he is. Great example that all 3 of them agreed on- when talking about the comeback of vinyl, they all 3 shook their heads with a resounding NO, vinyl is NOT coming back. Well...... guess what guys, vinyl is pretty strong right now. is it "back" as it was previously? Of course not, but yep, it made quite the comeback and at least here in the Midwest it shows no signs of slowing down. The last few record shows I've been to have been packed like that were back in the late 80's into the early 90's. For instance, my band put out our latest recording last year, and for the first time in over 25 years I've been consistently asked Dif and when we are releasing it on vinyl. pretty cool. It's here to stay for a while again.

I don't think Black Sabbath were even heavy metal in the 70s, they became heavy metal later with Ronnie James Dio, really Judas Priest is the first real heavy metal band I think.

I know technology has made some industries better, but not music. If illegal downloading wasn't so prevalent , it would be ok. but not only is the "packaged product" dying, but now music is stolen like crazy!!! the internet has totally fucked music

Illegal down loading really only fucks the record labels who have been fucking bands for ever.Touring is where the artists make money. And if you are a new band that actually has something to offer, then your fine. There is only 7 notes in music..so trying to come up with new riffs and licks is pretty much useless...that's what killed rock.
