Never commented on YT before, but feel that fans old & new might like to know that I saw Buddy and the Crickets perform in Ipswich, UK on their British tour in March 1958..... Blew my 16 year old mind! I can still remember how devastated I was on arriving at school the following year to be told by classmates of the crash. Was lucky enough to get the autographs of all three at the 58 concert, Buddy, Joe and Jerry, and it is only recently, after some 70 odd years that I have auctioned them off to pay for a great-grandson's education.... would you believe, they finished up in the hands of a fan from Lubbock, Texas!! I remain a 79 year old rocker, with some great memories.

One of the best contemporary musicals I have ever seen in London: three times with different groups of people and every time with a larger group of people who had seen the show at least once before. Well before the end of the show people were 'hoppin 'n boppin' in the rows, aisles, basically anywhere where there was space to dance - all delirious in happiness irrespective of age....

Carl Perkins, Gene Vincent, Eddie Cochran, Bill Haley, and Jerry Lee Lewis all deserve to be up there in the very top tier with the 4 you've named - as do the backing musicians who were vital to the sound, although less well known to the general public: Scotty Moore, Bill Black, Cliff Gallup, Rudy Pompilli, Franny Beecher, Jerry Allison, Joe B Mauldin... and many more. You also need to credit the vital roles played by people like Jerry Lieber, Mike Stoller, and Sam Philips.

Movies and Stage production's always take liberty's of changing the story. Probably ask someone who was there. For the TRUTH! Gary did a great job and this young man did the best he could. They just portray what the producer want them too. Can't blame the actor's. Just let them act and go along with the program. Buddy would love it! R.I.P. Buddy, Richie and The Big Bobber! Shawn.

I remember the announcement of the plane crash coming over WMGM in New York. I've followed Buddy Holly since before then. His music was just so damn good! I find his following today is in part because we wish, try to wish, that plane crash away. That four young boys might come walking back into the present day, warm, alive, and productive. Something indefinable was lost on February 03, 1959. It was a future of powerfully written rock and roll unparalleled by any other writer performer. So much similar for Ritchie and J.P. We lost the future of music, yet to be experienced.

These guys do Buddy's music justice, excellent rendition fellas, and keep up the good work.

Love his music! What a tribute to a hard working, sincerely musical icon that he was.
Buddy & the Crickets really rocked. Rock N' Roll owes Buddy & the Band allot.
THE MUSIC MASTER BUDDY HOLY HOLLY.

No musicians on the planet today compare to Buddy Holly. Along with Chuck Berry, Little Richard, and Elvis they are the 4 corners of Rock and Roll.

The stage show ran for over 13 years in London Wesr End.
When you sit in that seat in the theatre and they play like this....MAN! You really feel the impact rock n' roll music had on people back in the '50s. The hairs stood up on the back of my neck when I saw this, and the same for the Elvis story when they played That's All Right
Wow!! Buddy defined Rock and Roll.... So young to leave us.. what if ....
I'd love to see this musical.
I’ve noticed Bob Dylan shakin his leg like that when he’s rockin’ out. A Buddy Holly concert he attended as a young man, made a huge impression on him.

I don't deny anything you wrote but your implication is that Dylan got the move from Holly and I doubt that. To shake your leg with the beat of the music, especially a strong beat, is natural and universal for guitarists.
my favorite song by Buddy Holly reaching to the stars
Seen this when it was on to tour at Manchester would love this on DVD
After seeing movie The Searchers with John Wayne using the phrase TBTD in the film he went straight home and wrote the song.
Nice!! Really nice! He did a great job as Buddy Holly!
Excellently performed.
I once worked as a stagehand in Okc I worked a run (one week) showcall props ( proptart, propsitute) I could go on I wont Anywho one day backstage after the day show I was playing my guitar and the actors /musicians were walking around with their instruments well we had an informal jam sessions WOW! best memory when we finished there was a big crowd. Good times
Descubri a Buddy Holly gracias a The Beatles y ahora entiendo por que era su idolo, nadie compuso tantas canciones tan bonitas en tan corto pedido de tiempo

Shawn.
When Cupid shot his dart he shot it at your heart. What a great lyric.

60 years today the King of Rock & Roll died........RIP Buddy Holly.
We lost the future of music, yet to be experienced.
i really like the way he got the idea of the song thatl be the day from John Wayne,s film the searchers
I WAS A TEEN BACK THEN AND USTO LISTEN TO BUDDY

His family are deeply religious southerners and that was something that came straight from his Mother (on a TV show, I saw) & the Crickets have said the same about him. In the 50s, the bible belt was serious about those things... Jim Crow and lynchings aside :s
