And let's consider that CO2 is 0.04% of the atmosphere which is 4 particles in 10,000. How on earth have they managed to link climate change to this trace gas? That is an accomplishment.

I remember as a child in the 1970s that one article in Time magazine claimed particulates were cooling the Earth faster than CO2 was warming it. But since I went to a good school we were also taught that CO2 would overtake particulates and the earth would warm. In my lifetime there have been many predictions regarding decadal warming, and all of them have been proven correct. Predictions of sea level rise, all correct. All the while we watch the science alliterates claim "they all said 'we gonna die'" and we can just sit back and laugh at them. Every single prediction has been correct, but try telling the least educated Americans.

That sounds like the same argument my kids always made to me when I told them to make their beds... They always said "why, it's just gonna get messed up again tonight when I go to bed.... Just because there is something that is a naturally accuring event for which we can do nothing about happens doesn't mean we shouldn't try to curb or eliminate what we can do something about... Plus, having more options creates completion which keeps prices down... I don't think fossil fuel things need to go away completely but I do think we should have alternatives... I don't want ANY industry to have the kind of control that the big oil companies have had on our lives. How does everyone not see this!

I too am sorry that Raskin had cancer. The thing that was odd was that he wore a doo-rag throughout his chemo [treatments]. @@1Bman Doubt it. If he didn't wear the "cap" correctly, you could see his hair popping out from underneath. I hate to say it but I think he was faking it. Why? Because he had chemo and after a few hours of that, you're wiped out for a day or two. I think he missed 1 day in Congress. Plus the fact that he still had his eyebrows, eyelashes, didn't look like he lost any weight and his coloring was normal. That's not normal when you have cancer.

The damages are also high because construction efforts use cheap materials, half-assed meathods, and bare minimus standards. Case in point, ALL the new build homes during the NE tornado that just happened were completely flattened. The older builds were damaged, but almost all were still standing.

Most people I know would have the right answer for the world's population. These are the people that are making decisions for us.

That stupid bandanna was such a bid for attention and sympathy. I’m a three-time cancer survivor and went thru heavy chemotherapy and radiation and lost all my hair…but I never would have worn a stupid do-rag. Raskin is such a tool!!!

I'm all for getting off of fossil fuels but, that should happen AFTER a viable replacement is found. Congress should be pushing for that viable replacement instead of the end of fossil fuels.

They told my parents they were going to die from acid rain They told my generation the rainforest would be gone and all the polar bears would be dead, etc. It's always been utter bs and a giant money laundering scheme on the backs of taxpayers. I thought that's exactly where the money was going as they explained. They clarified that it was being spent to invest in alternative energy solutions, no? Now, there are certain environmental acts that would make it harder on fossil fuels but I'm not sure if it's any significant percentage of the bill or at all from what they're discussing?
