Gotta love the lands player getting literally every piece of hate and letting Vin-Saw do whatever he wants.

11:56 "The last ability of Growing Rites of Itlimoc doesn’t trigger if you don’t control four or more creatures as your end step begins. If you don’t control four or more creatures as it resolves, it does nothing."

Growing Rites of Itlimoc won't trigger at all if you don't have 4+ creatures as you move to your End Step. Sandwurm Convergence will trigger, giving you Creature #4, but it'll be too late for Itlimoc to transform.

@@imapaincake2305 no, because if you don't have 4 creatures at the beginning of the end step, it won't trigger at all. It doesn't just trigger and then check if you have 4 creatures, the trigger just doesn't go on the stack if you don't have 4 creatures when the step starts

It's an intervening "if" clause ("At the beginning of your end step, IF [condition], [do something]") which means that it checks the condition twice - once when it would be put on the stack, and once when it resolves. If the condition isn't true when it would be put on the stack, it isn't put on the stack. And if the condition isn't true when it resolves, it does nothing.

Being tempted by discovery is always a mistake. Sam got urborg and coffers and mark got a basic? Yeah totally worth.

Judging from the subsequent plays, I think Mark was tempted not because he wanted the land, but because he wanted to shuffle and hopefully put an instant or sorcery on the top of his library, and getting a land out of the deck increases the chances of that happening. It was a gamble, which unfortunately didn't pay off.

Always an entertaining watch. As somebody who loves combo victories, that was a pretty satisfying one to see.

You know, when Josh played Grenzo at GameKnights (actually, the first GK video I ever saw), it didn't pick my interest that much... but after seeing this version of Grenzo in action, I definitely want him as my Rakdos commander now (sorry, Mogis).

I really like Sam's take on Windgrace, it seems like my build. Dredge, some Landfall, and graveyard shenanigans. I just need some more of those juicy utility lands.

Came here specifically for inspiration for a grenzo deck. Wasn't disappointed.

Ah a fellow Thanits player, a man of true taste...

So good Tempt with Discovery. I prefere to do not run it in my Windgrace deck because I'm scared of Bojuka Bog or Scavenger Grounds exiling my graveyard. However there were many mistakes but it's normal in a complex multiplayer game.

3:56 Tuktuk Scrapper should have done one point of damage to the player Mark when it killed his scepter since Vince had one ally in play.

I think itlimoc needs the creatures to be out for the trigger to be put on the stack and for it to resolve

Turns out the one guy saying puzzle box was right!

Best line of the game: Muddstah saying "#cheatcounteroneSam" as a joke, and one minute later Sam actually cheating by accident, swinging with his creatures even though Glacial Chasm stops him from doing so. Also, #misplaycountoneMuddstah, for the Growing Rites of Itlimoc trigger: if you don't have enough creatures at the beginning of your end step, GRoI won't trigger at all, even if you add creatures during your end step to fulfill the quota; you have to add them before the end step.

My Thantis deck was just designed to put as much chaos on the field as physically and humanly possible. I didn't even design it to win.

Poor Mark, it was really sad to see land after land on top of his library.

0:23-0:25 Weird Cut 04:00 missed 1 dmg, i think. haven't really played that ally much. 11:58 Itlimoc Flip does not trigger , if you don't control 4 creatures at beginning of end step. (not sure how many tokens you had before cause lighting, talk seemed to indicate you had 3 creatures only) oh and i loved that Grenzo Deck!

A few misplays here. Forgot to give first spirit token, Ithilmoc couldn't have flipped, and he couldn't have attacked with Chasm. But overall good game!

Pretty sure Sam had glacial chasm on board when he cast craterhoof?

Good game, but watching Mark cast instants at sorcery speed was hard to watch at times. For example: the initial Lightning bolt and copy could have got him a 2 for 1 had he waited just one more turn for Vince to drop Grenzo.

Victimize brings the creatures onto the board TAPPED! And good game btw :D

He activated Grenzo at the end of Mark's turn. This is how the Virtus came out. He then started his own turn, which meant Virtus could attack on Vincent's turn.

Wait Sam attacked with the Craterhoof swing....didnt he have glacial chasm out? Shouldn't have dealt damage.

Why are people surprised that everyone picked on the Windgrace player? That's what happens when so many people build him focusing on mass land destruction. NO ONE LIKES LOSING THEIR LANDS AND BEING UNABLE TO PLAY THE GAME. Also, going after Doubling Season is a natural thing: Planeswalkers entering the battlefield with twice as many counters is no joke, and that Vraska at the top of Sam's library tells us he could have other PWs. That Vraska in particular would enter one turn away from her ultimate, and so would Windgrace himself.

Dryad arbor counts as a land, he couldn't have played dryad arbor and then golgari rotfarm on the same turn

Obliterate, Decree of Annhilaion, and all similar possible MLD effects. His card draw and recursion makes him very hard to keep up with once he gets going. At least, thats what I've seen so far when I faced him.

Personally, I hate it because every playgroup I've been to has one Windgrace player and Im kind of sick of seeing it and is almost always predictable of what they're doing. The usual ramp/sacLand/discardLand/landfall because theres no other way of playing him.

@@Ianoxen I have a Windgrace deck. It's about Greater Good/Urabrask/Living Death and Jarad as wincons, Landfall is like suppport. That is a much more graveyard oriented deck than most. There are other ways of playing him and I believe if you only focus on landfall you do it wrong.

@@Ianoxen I personally run a memey valakut list that attempts to get prismatic omen with valakut and any of mirage mirror, vesuva,or thespians stage. Also ob nixilis as a potential valakut #5. From there saccing lands via zuran orb or squandered resources followed by splendid reclamation or world shaper will close out most games. World shaper can be targeted by a valakut trigger to keep the shenanigans going.

Michał Korybut Wiśniowiecki Spellslinger decks are often all-or nothing decks. Either they go off in a flurry of spells or they do nothing at all while trying to sculpt their hands

axel leroy It doesn't work that way thankfully. The loyalty counters adding or removing from a planeswalker is a cost and doesn't actually put counters on the way doubling season cares about. If you cast a planeswalker with doubling season on the board however you get double.
