You're welcome there Plowboy, glad we could help. When you put out good videos like you do, it's no problem supporting you brother!
Had a 5.5 inch 44 Special and a 7.5 inch 38 Special. Best of the repo Colts ever made.
My 1872 Open top in 45 colt and my 1860 Army cartridge conversions in 44 colt are my favorite pistols. I by far prefer them over the 1873 SAA clones..
The Plowboy load is so powerful, it can fly through the camera, and across the world wide web (remember when it was called that?) an out a computer monitor somewhere else. Nice addition to the collection.
Enjoy the black powder loads, please make a video on how you clean your smoke wagons after black powder loads.
Oh boy that one looks familiar! Those are very hard to beat

Eli Wallach (Tuco) was not familiar with long single action revolvers, but was playing a gunslinger. He didn't want to look clumsy when holstering his pistol. Which is why he used a lanyard.
@plowboysghost
9 ай бұрын
I'd read the reason for the lanyard was that he couldn't holster the gun without looking at it, but I didn't remember whether it was his choice for the lanyard or Leone's requirement .
@acratone8300

I don't know if there was trick photography when Tuco in the gunstore sweeps a bunch of pistols off the countertop. Because at least one of them was very rare and must have been valuable. The one that looked like a Wylie Coyote scissors spring action.
Cool. I didn't know they made the Tuco in .45. That's a big hole!

Heck...I'll have to check that out!
Beautiful piece! I went shooting today. I did 15 shots at a 3 liter water jug. I only managed to hit it a few times. My Uberti 1858 seems to really not shoot the .45 Colt cowboy loads using the Howell cylinder very accurately at all. Tends to hit wildly to the left. I find that when I do hit it’s more of an issue of luck than skill. The 8 inch terra cotta flower pots turned upside down are a much better target and much more fun than the 3 liter water jugs are and being 8 inches wide at the bottom it’s easier to hit by aiming at the right hand edge of it about a couple of inches below it as opposed to aiming at the right bottom edge of the jug which is about 5 and a half inches wide and today I was hitting about 6 inches to the left on average so I was just barely missing it but with the flower pot if I’m hitting 6 inches to the left and 4 or 5 inches high I will still hit it. The jug is about 8 inches tall and the pot is about 7 and a half inches tall which is similar but sometimes I’m hitting over 8 inches high so aiming at the bottom right hand edge and not under it I tend to over shoot it. As I said in my email I got 25 empty brass Winchester .45 Colt shell casings for you. Is your address still the same? I will send them to you if you want to

@plowboysghost

Yep. If nothing else, I like Cimarron s markings better.
The Tuco is my favorite out of all the guns that are offered by Cimarron. I also like the Taylors & Co. 1860 Long Cylinder Conversion. The Tuco Special has a little taller rear sight that makes it much easier and quicker to get on the target. I wish all the Uberti made conversions had this type of rear sight especially the models with just a notch in the hammer. Anyway, I enjoy your videos and I hope your Tuco Special shoots as well as mine.
You chose wisely in both the pistols and the whisky! Bravo!👏

Beautiful. I'm currently agonizing between a 1872 Open Top Navy and a 1860 Richards Transition. I prefer the Navy grip but think the 1860 is a little prettier. I may be prejudiced by my CVA/ASM 1860 Army which I think may have a slightly more flared backstrap than the Uberti.

2lbs. 7.9 oz for the Open Top and 2 lbs 9.1 oz for the Tuco. They're close. I was seriously tempted and likely to buy it for a hundred and ten MORE than what they ended up selling it for, but thankfully I called them asked for their bottom dollar over the phone telling them I was looking at a couple other guns. I was shocked when they knocked One-ten off it.

@@plowboysghost That's interesting. Mfg. data seems to be correct for the Open Top, but claims about 2 1/4 lbs. for the Tuco, (36 oz.).
