Beautiful gun. Love the white grips with the stainless finish.
Wow, that's some super serious recoil - especially for such a long barrel!... Long travel time in that barrel - for maximum power. That'll take care of anything! 💥

So would you do it again? Whats your opinion on the quality of the BFRs?
That is a beast
It kinda reminds me of the M198 Howitzer I fired as a Marine. 👍
Damn. Powerful handgun. WOW
I’m definitely getting a cylinder made for my Freedom Arms in JRH now. Love to see a reloading video from start to finish. Where you start with cutting the 500S&W cases down to the final loaded rounds
Thats a bigfoot load if there ever was one.
@plowboysghost
Ай бұрын
You got that right.
Love it, I found for me the only time I hit my knuckle was without a glove, as with just a little sweat it was too slick to hold under full power loads, because they do have a little back up to ‘em. A good tight, thin glove is an awesome shooting aid. It is also amazing what kind smoke those things bring to a target. Those big heavy bullets don’t like to stop and the energy transfer to steel plates is a thing of joy. It is always fun to see people’s reactions to seeing it for the first time when they have only seen bullets in the 300-350 grain range impact a plate. The added bonus is when you hear that thunk as you drop a round into the cylinder. Enjoy it and I look forward to more of the BFR adventures.

That sir, is a beautiful beast of a gun!
I can feel the "damn plate broke off again" pains. That's a whole lot of hog leg.👍
Have wondered by Magnum Research uses a rather vertical profile on the back of that trigger guard, as compared to say, a Ruger Blackhawk or something similar. The recoil compresses the handle in one's palm just enough to smack that guard into the face of your finger. Pretty sweet rig you have. I'm sure you'll find loads you can back off a good bit and make a nice thumping (but pleasant) load in this. Sort of like a 280 to 300gr load in the .45 Colt running 850-900. Big push, not a crack.

I was about half way thru the video when a call came in from some Alabama Grizzlies. They were all sorts of concerned about what was making the ground shake down there. They asked if the Outback was receiving bear-war refugees? I had to explain that Oregon is a Grizzley Free Zone, but I sent them a map to the Governor's Mansion down in Sacramento. I told them that guy will take in anybody or anything. I did mention that moving to California, there was a possibility of earthquakes. They were convinced some west coast earthquakes couldn't be anywhere near as scary as what they just experienced from some gun-nut out there in his back yard 😳

That is one snappy Mutha....looks like some serious power right there. Do you see yourself staying with this load, or backing down a few grains?
Got damn!
I’ve been thinking about this for a long time of taking a 500 Smith & Wesson cutting it down and necking it down to 41 magnum have a custom reamer cut to modify a Thompson contender barrel in 41 mag the JRH cartridge being 1.4 inches is the length I was thinking about with this project
Oh yea!!🎉🎉✊🏻✊🏻
Nice to see you shoot this. With the events of today has got me seriously reconsidering my priorities. Currently I have my eye on a RIA 1911 10mm going on the cheap so far. Also found another option on a platform I love marked at a price I'm surprised by. Maybe in a month we will see. Right now though the metaphorical griz is a roaring its ugly head, which leads me to a conclusion investment in precious metals, more brass, lead, and such. Feed what I have. Mountain man

Looks like fun! Thanks for sharing. Help not be a bit concerned about your back stop?
@plowboysghost
Ай бұрын
There's a back stop further back. You can hear the bullets hitting dirt on the misses. Plus, the angle from where I'm standing facing the target is safer than you can see from where the camera is.
I would say that is your "Because I can" gun.
You are having too much fun for a weekday...lol😂😂😂

You think it clobbers your plate, you gotta shoot some jugs of water! Especially if you get an MP hollow point mold and use 10bhn alloy.

As a new viewer of the channel I cant help but notice that the neighbors house is being used as the backstop for your shooting range? I dont know what to say. That looks like a house to me. With a .50 cal ball flying toward the neighbors house, I guess you arent allowed to miss that target. 😂
@plowboysghost
3 күн бұрын
I wish I had a dollar for everyone who sees a little and extrapolates a lot. I'm angled near 45 degrees from that house(and from the target...which needs to be turned for the first time in years), from me to the target...unlike what I could do before that house was started. You're not the first one to see it different than it is I've been a gun owner for 41+ years and I have NEVER threatened/ harmed anyone else or their property with my gun handling
Couldn’t you shoot 500 magnum wad cutters in that?

I’m hoping that the camera angle is deceptive, but that building in the background looks to close for comfort.

The camera angle IS deceptive...looking towards that building while the shooter to target is a very different angle.
I hope you never hit the house down range
