Thabo’s case has exposed a lot of security loopholes in this country. No wonder the Guptas escaped with all their clan right in the face of so-called security system.

One thing about Aaron is he knows the laws and how his Department is supposed to work. His spokesperson is unknown to me and must have a chilled day at his office.

Based on what actually, do you know anything called department of health? Godhan was said to be competent and anti-corruption yet in his portfolio currently he is a mess and is the minister de Ryter talked about and has confessed on that. So don't be confused.

Didn’t interviewing lady at 18:20 get the memo/heads up before this interview that Thabo’s mother confirmed in a recent interview that she was actually r@ped by a stranger who had given her a lifter together with her sister/friend and that THABO was a product of that unfortunate incident? eg when the minister said "we still have a long way before we have full control of the border" she asked how long but didn't follow up on that question. Would have been nice to know that info don't you think?

Home affairs are now doing a tremendous job of opening birth registration centres in hospitals. Its also happening in Namibia: most hospitals soon after birth its easy to access birth certificate.

Thabos story of life is sad. His mother abandoned him at the age of 1 n even after granny Besters death she never took him in until she saw him when he was arrested in 2011. Thabo is a wounded soul n hurting ppl hurt people. No one is saying anything about troubled childhood. Apparently her mother was rap@d n dats how Thabo was conceived. 😢

He was a result of rape, so it’s understandable that he was not registered. One can imagine the emotional, mental and psychological effects of rape on a woman. During apartheid women were often separated from their parents and Thabo’s mother and grandmother are a classic example of life under apartheid and segregation.

This Journalists at some point need to give ministers who do their job diligently their flowers, all I hear is questions, at some point repeating the same questions and the minister is answering all the questions asked comprehensively.

The interviwer made this hard to flow.

Maybe being told as a kid that he was a product of rape made him angry, maybe been mocked because he clearly didn't look like anyone in the family and the mother probably didn't say who his father was. thabo Bester will be killed in prison , the SA correctional service is not functioning well, lets not act like these prisoners do not have weapons in prison and its not easy for him to get poisoned there . this story has just shown how weak is the justice system in SA is , its quite boring to me that the department of correctional service and SAPS be acting like they are doing their job properly. in SA there is just no law .the Traffic, police , home affairs and all these governmental institutions are just useless . ​ The mother is a rape victim. A gender based violence survivor. Actually he is lucky his mother carried the pregnancy right through to birth since she could have easily sorted out for an abortion. The question is , what happened to his biological father ,the rapist shopkeeper? Was he arrested or ever held accountable for raping the then young woman? Thabo was conceived through a violent act act , he is not a fruit a consenting sexual relationship. Why then blame mother for not bringing him up herself and not the father/ man for the violence and crime he committed against this woman. Thabo's father abused a young poor young Black woman and she had to cope with the consequences .

If you generally don't stop people entering along non-designated entry points, how many millions entered via those routes over the last 30 years? In one go, during special operations, 100s of people get arrested being caught trying to enter at ONE spot on ONE morning. How many millions along the entirety of the border over the last 30 years?
