Thabo Bester | Questions raised about running of Mangaung prison
Thabo Bester’s escape from prison last year by faking his own death has raised many questions about how the Mangaung correctional centre, privately run by security company G4S, is being managed.

I never knew that prison were private. It is sad.
What else did we expect from South African politicians, ANC must go top to bottom [sorry for the few good ones].
The conditions in these prisons sound horrendous and incredulous. It sounds totally inhumane. The inmates will come out more violent than when they went in just from no ability for any reform. Sounds like Mandela had it better on Robbin Island than in Manguang prison. Which is saying something.

The criminal justice system wrongfully convicts hundreds of people if not thousands a year,here and overseas. The USA specially has hundreds of thousands of wrongfully prosecutor and convicted people. So the whole prison system needs an overhaul here and overseas sir.
WHY call him Thabo Bester??? His REAL NAME SHOULD BE USED !! Thabo Bester is someone else's name he used. It WILL be easier to call him on his BIRTH NAME & SURNAME then People will know who he is!!!

I'm not sure where I stand on the issue of forced injections of anti-psychotics to violent, unstable inmates. In a way it's a good thing for their, and fellow inmates safety. Bottom line, if you earn a spot in a C-max prison, you have pretty given up your claim to your "human" status....
The poorer inmates without outside resources suffer more while others enjoy WiFi & Bacon & eggs etc

who is this guy and were is he?
If he harms anyone now, they going to be able to sue for a massive amount of money because he's been roaming free with the help of prison officials when he was sentenced to life and should still be behind bars, I just hope he's caught before anyone else is harmed.

This story is special because it's exposing the level of corruption in prisons. This is not someone who escaped by squeezing himself through cell bars or someone doing a runner while in transit. This requires extreme planning and a number of high level people.
