Interestingly, the one sequel beyond Tobe I liked was Leatherface: TCM 3, because Jeff Burr was forced, under duress, to take the Tobe route- budget cuts and constant stress created nastiness and that docu-type feel that is necessary. Speaking of the uncut that New Line "butchered."

I love that no matter how many times they remake this, they always fail to capture the insanity of the Sawyer family from the original and it’s sequels. There seems to be no emphasis on the family anymore, which is a shame because Leatherface himself is only 1/3 of the brothers who torment and entertain in Tobe Hooper’s classic.

Yes! The family aspect and each one being uniquely psycho is one of the best parts of it. The original film feels like chaos when the dog gets off the leash; so to speak.

In part, because many of those family scenes filmed in the first film- wasn't all acting. The cast and crew were driven to near hysterical points of madness due to the long hours working in the Texas heat; along with the smells of the dead animal's they were using on set. (Which actually caused some people to even be sick) The leading lady's finger was actually cut during the "dinner" scene, the kid dressed up as the grand dad actually drank her blood, and during the scenes where they're knocking her around- all those hits were actually real. That film was just as disturbing to make as it was to watch! Rightfully, that kinda thing just wouldn't fly in todays world!

I watched that one when I was around 10 or 11 and it scared the shit out of me. I had nightmares and had to sleep in bed with my mom for the next 3 days or so lol. That one will always be the best it was eerie and terrifying. A lot of people might not think so but I thought they did an awesome job with it. To me the ones that came before and after just can't compare

Really glad they made this I’m a big fan I really enjoyed the 2003 reboot it’s still one of my favourites. Also with gun media putting out the game soon it’s exciting times for sure. Although I do have to laugh at how easy it is to stop a chainsaw that girl could literally pull off her T-shirt and throw it into the chain to completely tangle it useless it’s really Mickey Mouse easy. It’s amazing how enormous the chainsaw has become as a chosen/or weapon when it is so grotesquely inefficient and so many people don’t realize just how easy it is to stop one.

There have been multiple videos floating around on KZread for years about why a chainsaw would not work very well in some thing like let’s say a zombie apocalypse Or some event where you need to be slicing off peoples limbs quickly etc. Please don’t get offended I am a fan of the Texas chainsaw massacre it’s truly a classic, just saying the chainsaw literally isn’t that great of a weapon to be using in a real sense. And I was just as surprised as a lot of people to realize just how poor of a weapon it would be in comparisons. Again I love Leatherface and the Texas chainsaw massacre it’s an OG horror franchise and deserves all the respect in the world.

The reason why The OG Texas Chainsaw Massacre was so effetive has something to do with it's gritty documentary styled cinematography. The crew were also filming and acting under very harsh circumstances - the actors got exhausted by long hours and a hot weather, which gave the actors some feelings to throw in to their characters. If this remake aren't able to catch that atmosphere of grittiness and mental terror, then forget about it already.

Are people interested in seeing this AGAIN? I can’t wait for Texas chainsaw massacre part 53 when I’m in my 80s

I am a gen z 19 yrs old, but these horror movies was my favorite back in the days. Freddy Krueger, Jason Voorhees, Micheal Myer, Jigsaw, Leatherface, Ghostface, Chucky, The Creeper. These all my all time favorite Serial killers. I hope they will reboot friday the 13th after seeing this reboot I'm expecting that this will be good (i hope) i feel nostalgic seeing these movies again since i was small that time.

The original is colorful. Reds (Coca-Cola machine, generator, girl's shorts), greens (grass and foliage) blues (Sally's shirt, pretty women mask), beautiful sunsets, ect. The colors popped, gave it a unique look and feel compared to other horror films. And yet, all of the sequels have this muted brown color-grade over everything. Why?

Old school cameras and film in the hot texas sun. I would appreciate they if they paid attention to that massive piece of the movie... It felt sweaty and dusty

I agree. It's like they only paid attention to the general yellow-ish hue it had or they just think, "hot . . . Texas . . . sun . . ." and match the color grade accordingly. Like every time they film a desert scene.

The ending to this movie was hilarious

The new Halloween was done just right. They weren’t afraid to show some wild kills. This needs to be the same way.

@Ronald Earl Hopson Jr Thank you for pointing out the elephant in the room. I watched it in theatres, and I don't like to judge to harshly generally, but the amount of cringe that was in it was hard to watch.

Can’t wait for this my mom lived 10 minutes away from the town where this happened foreal so these movies have a special place in my heart ❤️

finally, a trailer that didn’t show the whole movie, i think this one will actually be really good!

Nothing will ever match up to watching the original for the first time as an 8 year old kid.

I always wonder how Leatherface starts his saw up quick on the first pull. It always takes me at least five minutes of chocking and pulling the chord to get my chainsaw going.

I really hope this will be good, Leatherface is an icon of horror and one of my favourite slashers. The new Halloween movies give me a bit of faith, and the Chucky remake wasn't too bad either... but some of the more recent Texas Chainsaw installments have been a wee bit disappointing. Although, I do love the fact that horror legends are making a comeback.

Fede Alvarez has made good movies. He made the Evil Dead remake and Don't breathe. I hope the director and the crew make a good final sequel instead of another cheap dumb Leatherface movie like the last 20 we had.
