I'm a bollweevil and I'm still looking for a home

I remember my grandpa singing that song when I was barely five years old. In fact he told me the story of the boll weevil, and its destructive power over cotton and the farmer. There is a statue of the boll weevil in a small town in Alabama. Enterprise, Alabama.

one of my dad's all-time favorites.

When I get to heaven, I'm gonna ask The Lord if I can see the great Tex Ritter and I will ask him to play this song and Rye Whisky and High Noon before moving on.
