I love his singing voice particularly in his younger days-very virile and unique. He sounds very intelligent in this interview.

I had a friend who was a theater manager in Ashland. Kentucky in the late Forties and early Fifties. Quite often, Tex Ritter would stop by for a visit and meet his fans.He did a lot of touring during and after his film career. He also hosted the syndicated cowntry western TV show, Town Hall Dance Party.

Correction: Tex Ritter ran for U.S. Senator from Tennessee in 1970 and was beaten by Bill Brock who went on to beat the incumbent, Albert Gore Sr.

Though I am not from America (from india) and have only seen Mr Ritter on KZread, I must say that besides being a true and thorough Southern gentlemen, he embodies the mainland culture of usa and I feel he looks, talks and behaves like an original American..I always considered the culture of usa as the one portrayed in old western movies, country and folk music. ..it may sound very stupid but that's what I think..
