I watched Swing Shift Cinderella first so I could immediately tell. Kinda ruins the rewatch value of this one especially since I think Swing Shift Cinderella is funnier. I can excuse it though because these cartoons were made at a time before home video existed so you couldn’t just watch then both “back to back“ and realize it reused animation.

Yup. Pinto Colvig did not limit himself to Disney in his lifetime. MGM wasn't far off. Doesn't seem to matter what role he voiced. Goofy was always his signature character and by implementing that personality on other characters? It's pretty obvious.

Tex Avery and Chuck Jones cartoons were the only US cartoons that werent dubbed in France on TV. Subtitles were used to preserve the extraordinary quality of their soundtracks, both the music and the acting voices. There was also a christmas holidays tradition during the 80's and 90's : every friday and saturday night from December 15 yo January 15 at 11PM and during christmas night, the French third public channel proposed a two hour selection of the finest Tex Avery cartoons. Many kids and teens were allowed to stay awake until 1AM to enjoy the show. That's why Tex Avery is very appreciated by 30 y:o and up French people.

NGL I kinda get where the City wolf is coming from. Aside, I honestly, think it's pretty impressive that Tex recycled a segment from a previous Red short, and made it so the bits sandwiching that segment weren't dull or derivative. I'm kinda with Eric Goldberg how this is one worth remembering as one of his best shorts cuz the cousins just have great chemistry for comedy lol

The singing voice for City Red was provided by American Jazz & Pop singer Imogene Lynn. In fact, she provided the singing voice for all of Red's appearances throughout all of the Tex Avery shorts.

I imagine they just kept going back and forth until the girls decide to stay in one place.

The dancing singing girl was so beautifully (and provocatively) animated but i always wondered whether it was rotoscoped (a-la Ralph Bakshi).
