"One of the most perfect cartoons ever made." - Chuck Jones
I always loved this cartoon, like two strays lookin out for each other.
It's hilarious that bad luck is good luck for an innocent kitty. 🤣 The moral of the story is always be kind to animals, cause you never know when bad luck comes your way.
The dog's laughter will forever be ingrained in my mind.
I loved the tex avery cartoons
The part where the mutt swallows the whistle and has things fall on him; that's my fave part
That dog's laugh tho! LMAO!
William Hanna is the voice behind Tom and Jerry's vocal effects especially infamous screams.
Aw that little kitty so cute...and glad for him becomeing a new black cat
I always wanted to go to Toontown and adopt that little kitten. ❤
I liked the horseshoes falling in the dog. DIDNT EXPECT THE HORSE. Thought that was real funny. But the gag at 5:40 where the dog at a construction site blows the whistle, then the cat proudly strolls by on the beam with plungers on his feet almost made me fall off the couch. That's how I got here after a lengthy internet search. I'm saving plunger segment on my phone. Thank you for posting it.
As someone who suffered abuses in his junir, middle and high school years, I can say you: I deeply hate bullies. And this Bullie-Dog really got what he deserved.

Hi Inika lol this reaction video is hilarious! Always loved bad luck blackie and this short! A little pice of trivia for ya, the dogs laugh at 1:11 is done by none other then TEX AVERY himself! :)
This is one of my favorite cartoons, I love when the black cat helped out the little white kitten in the first part, and then when the little white kitten see the cat in trouble he drive into a can of black paint and he became a little black kitten and he used it to get revenge on the dog and he got more bad luck in the second part and the kitten became the new cat in charge.😃❤👍

Did you know this cartoon was sampled in the 70s as well too? If you listen to lots of music like myself this cartoon was sampled by the band The Stray Cats, which they used clips from this cartoon in their music video for Stray Cat Strut.
The second flower pot gag is missing that fifth flower out the top...one of Tex Avery's best cartoons.
What I liked most about the kitten is that he didn’t start trouble with the dog after he got the whistle. He still tried to avoid him, and even ran up the pole to get away from him. The dog was the one who just *had* to keep messing with him
2:11 In 1939 there was a popular novel called "Kitty Foyle" that was later made into a movie.
(7:09) This rule of funny part makes me laugh. It's cracks me up every time.
Love Bad Luck Blackie & Tex Avery!
7:20 I just love how he narrowly avoids the piano.😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Some of all MGM cartoons were popular in Cambodia 🇰🇭 and other countries

Slightly disturbed by the kitten's sinister laugh at the end. "With great power..." Well, you know the rest. "Roger Rabbit" Would be a great view! Subscribed!

Shorty (which is what Blackie calls him) is cuter as a white-and-gray kitten, like my kitten Chico. I wouldn't say his laugh is "sinister," I'd say its more a laugh of retribution. After suffering at the hands of that very sinister and sadistic bulldog, he finally got revenge against the coldhearted canine.

Tex was THEE BEST!! Everyone praises Chuck Jones but his stuff GREATLY pales in comparison, most of it's not even funny!! A VERY close second to Tex was Bob Clampett! Art Davis did some great ones, too! Also check out the Fleischer brothers stuff (Betty Boop, Popeye (the early ones in black & white)). Each of those old cartoons took 9 months to make from start to finish. Tex also used to write gags for Spike Jones, like the one where you see Spike sitting on an upright piano and he's got hands instead of feet and they are playing the piano.

@@marcustrice3246 HB did a lot of great cartoons up to the early `70's. I stopped being a fan shortly after they started doing Scoobt-Doo. The ones that lost it, for me, are things like, The Hair Bear Bunch, The Funky Phantom, that one about the dune buggy that talks, etc.. The original Scooby was great but, after about 3 years, it started to get stupid.
It's my all time favorite cartoon since I was a kid and I'm 64 now
Good I hated that Dog glad he's getting what he deserves
Karma is a bad chick
I bet not many people noticed this cartoon she was covering and why it’s very recognizable as well. If you listen to lots of music like myself from 70s and 80s which this cartoon was used in a music video by the band The Stray Cats who sampled clips of this cartoon in their music video for “Stray Cat Strut”. That’s what also makes this cartoon very recognized as well. I think it’s funny she mentioned it at the end of the video. She must of searched it.
If it wasn't for Bad Luck we would have no Luck at all
best cartoons were made by Tex Avery, I have all his collection
The reaction is 💪 in this 1. I watched this on 📺 in my childhood many times & identified with that poor defenseless kitty being bullied. Being on both sides of the Bullying Coin in real-time, NEITHER was fun AT ALL. I was elated to see that bully mutt get what was coming to him. What moved me the most: Kitty turning black & using such to save the Cat back after losing his powers. Don't Be A Bully, And... WATCH CARTOONS😏.
You should do Bugs and Daffy together

🤣🤣 very good
Wait, why does the dog having a whistle in him cause bad things to happen? It's not summoning a black cat anymore
@stevenmaginnis1965

Because the kitten has more power as bad luck after he's painted himself black. First the bulldog gets hit by an anvil, then he swallows the whistle, than he starts hiccupping and causes things to fall on him when the whistle goes off . . . one piece of bad luck starts a domino effect of bad luck that goes on and on and on and on. That's why the newly black kitten becomes the top cat.
i was just wishing the same thing.

Really if it was racist why would black cats be racist? Besides it’s only superstitious jokes. Anyone who thinks it’s racist is ridiculous. Besides this cartoon has such huge impact in music history too.
