Tetrachords In The Studio With Thor Odinsson

We sat down with modular synthesist Thor Odinsson to get his first impressions of the Tetrachords module and how he uses it with his large system.
Thor has been building a modular system for over 8 years and has gone through many iterations of controlling polyphony in a modular environment. Along with Mario Volkel he designed a chord module of his own called the 'PolyGenerator' which shares many of the fundamental concepts of the Tetrachords module.
It was a pleasure to have Thor give his informed opinion on the Tetrachords and to see it find a home in his large system.

I understand Frank's journey. I also walked that road. The Ornament and Crime opened it up for me, years back. Many people seemed to have totally overlooked its VCO calibration capabilities, even that far back.

How does this compare to the ACL sinfonion?

The main difference is the sinfonian is designed as a very accurate cv quantiser. Whereas Tetrachords uses primarily triggers and gates to trigger cv and midi note changes. The Tetrachords allows more hands on jam ability in our opinion over the Sinfonion, and with the addition of midi and usb-c, more connectivity options. But the Sinfonion is awesome as well, no shade given.
