    Would love some more patch notes. Is the Trigger riot providing the... triggers for parts of the Tetra?

  • @cycleinstruments5270
    @cycleinstruments52708 күн бұрын

    Yes the trigger riot is providing the triggers for both track one and track two of the Tetrachords. Halfway through I switch to arp mode on track one and you can hear the Trigger riot triggering the note changes. I am sending a very fast trigger to track two because on that I am doing chords but with no VCA’s. so it’s basically just making sure that every time I manually change something on track 2 that there’s a trigger very quickly after to make it take effect.

  • @cycleinstruments5270

    Hi @grrissozz yes the settings are saved per pattern. So you can create really nice inversions of chords on each pattern and then step through. With an arp or bass-line or even a counter chord pattern along with it.

  • @Grrissozz
    @GrrissozzАй бұрын

    Wow that price tag tho. Don’t get me wrong. It’s nice and all. But €1000 gets u A LOT of sequencing elsewhere.

  • @cycleinstruments5270
    @cycleinstruments5270Ай бұрын

    @@Grrissozz The price is in AUS dollars. Price including shipping via DHL and 19% VAT to Germany for example works out around 865 euros. The price is significant, no one is denying that but in our opinion it fills out the polyphonic sequencer module space nicely and is similarly priced to other modules with the same capabilities. It's also available:) Which is a plus.

    Can these pivot mods be sequenced using the built-in step sequencer, and if not, is that something you would consider supporting in future?

  • @cycleinstruments5270
    @cycleinstruments52705 ай бұрын

    They can't at the moment, but if you have an idea of how it could be implemented, feel free to send in a suggestion. The only concrete plans we have at the moment, is to implement mods on this feature. Currently it's about the only performance feature that can't be modulated.

    How does this compare to the ACL sinfonion?

  • @cycleinstruments5270
    @cycleinstruments52708 күн бұрын

    The main difference is the sinfonian is designed as a very accurate cv quantiser. Whereas Tetrachords uses primarily triggers and gates to trigger cv and midi note changes. The Tetrachords allows more hands on jam ability in our opinion over the Sinfonion, and with the addition of midi and usb-c, more connectivity options. But the Sinfonion is awesome as well, no shade given.

    When moving between tracks, is there any visual feedback to show what scale each track has selected? Say, you put minor and major on track one, and select major and minor for track two, is there a way to tell? Obviously, the knob position won't reflect the true value.

  • @cycleinstruments5270
    @cycleinstruments52705 ай бұрын

    Hey @nickjones5641 yes there are small leds next to every one of the knob and button options on the faceplate. These update per track so it is easy to see where a knob is set when you change tracks even if the knob is pointing in a different direction. You can see an example of this in the mod video.

  • @cycleinstruments5270

    Yes you can do what you have described. For that example you would just set the midi to cv converter to listen to midi channel 3. Track 3. And you would get the full polyphony out the midi to cv converter. But you can also assign multiple cv outs on the Tetrachords to a single track So in this example I could have assigned 3 cv outs to track 3. Then I would get 3 note chords from track 3. And the monophonic arp line from track 1/cv out 1.

  • @cycleinstruments5270
    @cycleinstruments52706 ай бұрын

    The important concept being that the cv outs on the Tetrachords are not set to any specific track. And can be freely assigned in any configuration to any track.

  • @cycleinstruments5270
    @cycleinstruments52706 ай бұрын

    Yes. You can setup a trigger to modulate the reset so that it resets the pattern to the start. Similar to traditional sequencers.

  • @jericho2x2

    amazing sequencer. I'm just watching all the videos. I'm wondering if you can modulate the root note as well? And can you choose different root notes per pattern?

  • @cycleinstruments5270
    @cycleinstruments52706 ай бұрын

    Yes. You can modulate essentially anything on the Tetrachords using the 6 cv mod inputs. The way you assign the mods is shown in the mod video. Yes the root note can be changed per pattern.

    @@cycleinstruments5270 I just don't understand the value of having a 2nd chord knob below, for most music wouldn't you just want the upper and lower sections to be the same?

  • @cycleinstruments5270
    @cycleinstruments52703 ай бұрын

    @@joshk2181 By breaking the 8 notes of a single scale up into two lots of 4 notes. and having the distance between each set of 4 notes be independently set. It is possible to play in essentially every possible scale. Rather than the 8 or so that would fit on a regular pot. But you are right in the sense that once you set the scale you want to play in most of the time you will just staying in that scale. If you have a look at the scale recipes on the last page of the menus and tips guide here cycleinstruments.com/resources/ it maybe will clear up how to set scales using the two knobs.

  • @cycleinstruments5270
    @cycleinstruments52706 ай бұрын

    Yes exactly so you can setup any of the mod inputs to modulate the reset button if you’d like. Ie, act as a traditional reset. Which in your case would mean your reset clock will make the pattern start from the beginning.

I have a master clock and rest for my whole eurorack (and DAW) setup, it would be nice to be able to reset the patter here to step one by this external master reset.

    So, in this example, if we paired the track 3 out with a MIDI to CV interface instead of a DAW (like the Befaco CV Thing) , we could get the full four note chord coming out as CV pitch info from the interface?
