Glock232 - Everyone’s split on this, they say it gets just as hot if you put the food packets up against the FRH bag but I always put them inside the bag, habit I guess.

If you are wondering why the MRE is cold, this is why. You have to put the entree inside of the FRH (heating element) where the water goes for maximum heat.

That plus he didn't make sure the water actually soaked into the heating element. Need to shake them around a bit to make sure the water soaks in. Then they work just fine.

You're right about putting things IN the bag ... he does usually does that ... maybe there are 2 kinds of heating elements?

Cause you barely added water on the heating element

I remember when my dad was in the military and when he came home from deployment, we went camping and we had a couple of mres on us. The mres are really good btw.

I think you should put more water in the heating bag, until the line, It wasn´t even steaming a lot because that.

Taras the MRE heaters work fine, you are supposed to put the food inside the MRE bag against the hot element. it will heat it up super hot and steamy

It does help to shake the ration heater up after you put the water in so it soaks the entire element so it can heat up better

You put the food packet inside the heating element bag, fill water to the fill line, seal, shake and put inside cardboard folder.

These changed since i was in the guard. Favorite was beef and macaroni. Egg omelette, least favorite was the hot dogs lol
