This is from Jordan, Arab like eating rice and chicken with beans. They mix it together, that’s why the rice was dry. It’s a traditional dish.

It's very traditional in Israel as well. The MRE-s actually are pretty similar altogether (between Israel and Jordan), but wouldn't you say it is still pretty small amount of food for 24 hours?

The Jordanian military must all be starving if that’s supposed to be 24 hrs of food, barely anything in that and what was the honey and apricot jam for, there was nothing to spread it on, guess the honey could have gone in the tea.

its most likely a 'short' 24hour ration, some UK/US rations have more 'complete' and 'smaller' ones for quick combat situations.

im Jordanian and my grandfather was a Brigadier general and my dad served for a few years. i think those are rations for stationed soldiers who have kitchens to cook. my father used to tell me stories about cooking when he was serving. i think if you are deployed you would get a bigger one than that for sure. remember only like 5-10% of the army soldiers see combat in the US and they are active. Jordan would probably be less.
