That first one feels to me like a toasted cheese sandwich with a spoonful of thick tomato soup on top. Using such a thick piece of bread but not letting the sauce touch it and sog it up is an interesting idea.
Hey Mike, I just want to thank you for creating such top tier content on a regular basis. You have really inspired me to get back into cooking (I graduated last year and landed my first full-time job, so my passion for cooking completely depleted because I was so bogged down with work) but your videos came to the rescue! I have tried many of your recipes and I just admire how relaxed and comfortable you are in the kitchen. Your willingness to accept and learn from mistakes is admirable and I am grateful to be on this journey with you 😊
The first one is a bruschetta: toasted bread with fresh toppings... definitely not a pizza
I love how you make all of this so approachable and you talk about the pros and cons of everything but keep it real with us about how it really taste or feels lol
Try the green one but add basil in the crust! (And real sauce/cheese of course)
This series is great - fun and informative! 🌟 💫
For a spicy pizza sauce I usually add some harissa paste, it gives a nice heat and some warmth from the spices
Love this series
I love adding Gochuchang and kefir to my pizza dough. That also makes great stuffed pan fry bread to serve with chopped Mediterranean salads and bean or lentil dips and dishes.
Loved it!!!
Fantastic as always
The spring pizza looks heavenly! I definitely would toss it back into the oven too! I’d probably drizzle balsamic glaze all over it. 😍
Love this video! Literally every pizza looked the bomb 😍
Wow different types of recipe, looking so yummy and delicious 👍👍
Love it all!! You should try that prosciutto pizza with dried mint instead of oregano... Goes with the spring vibe 😍

Maybe but use Arugula! Truffle oil & balsamic glaze! To die for!
Mike, you have the best channel that never fails to teach and entertain me. I love it.
I’m excited to try out making a spinach pizza dough now! Not sure how much more nutrients you get through adding it but that green color is pretty awesome!

You may not get much more than a typical dough nutritionally wise, but the flavor will be reminiscent of spinach.
❤️ I love the video!
that spinach pizza looks so dope
i love these videos SOOO much, especially when you try tiktok recipes!! 🤩
Ok I might have to try that procutitto snap pea creation.
I think it's awesome that you used your authentic first take for making the pizza (I assume). You easily could have said "oh this crust looks too black, let's re-do that" thanks for showing raw cooking!!
You should do the Dairy free Boursin with sliced beet/orange pizza that Shelby Varieur made
Its like green pasta, ive never seen it done that way with pizza, cool.
Which Ooni oven do you have? Do you have a video of getting your fire started? I’ve heard it’s tricky?. Great video!!
I love my Ooni! If you are on the fence, it’s a great pizza oven.
Wow very interesting pizzas! I would obviously use real cheese on the vegan green pizza but they all look really good. The vodka sauce is really good looking!!! Gonna try it 😎
Love how you select these recipes and make them better. What is your recipe for your overnight dough? I have a ooni, but struggle with making a good dough that cook right. Thanks in advance.

Mike essentially gives you some clues, it's flour, oil (usually it's olive oil for the flavor), salt, some sugar (not a lot, but it helps the yeast rise), and water. No baking soda or powder in it. For my dough recipe, which came from Flieshman's site says to add the yeast to the water (2/3 cup), add the sugar and let it proof, add to the dough, oil, and salt mixture and then mix (I use my food processor) and you then have pizza. I often let it rise/rest for 30-45 minutes in a warm spot until it doubles in size, then shape into a pizza.

@@johnhpalmer6098 thanks so much for these details. Do you use specific flour?
@johnhpalmer6098
2 жыл бұрын
@@cherylcase252 I just use all purpose flour, nothing special, and I try to let the oven preheat, with a pizza stone on the bottom rack, though some say, near the top and it get good and hot, about an hour at 550F and then bake it roughly 10-12 minutes and in my oven, it's 10 minutes as that's what I come to bake mine at, I roll it out, then top, then bake at that very hot temp.
The first one reminded me of my countries Welsh Rarebit recipe.
Mike - you are the Pizza King!!!
Do you prefer your overnight pizza dough recipe or the vitos dough receipe? thank you!
Adding tomato or spinach to the dough is my favorite! Please try the vodka pizza with the spinach dough! Or Margherita style! I bet you'll find more inspiration.
my dad has made that burrata style for 20 years. he makes his own sourdough bread and puts heirloom and everything. loved watching him cook growing up
Soft & Craunchy, at the same time!
My favorite overall: Spring Pizza. Yes, agreed! Very much a California pizza. The others you've remade looked delicious too and yes, the spinach pizza dough makeover was perfect! Until I get a pizza oven myself, I'm gonna stick with the burrata toast!
Have you ever made Beetroot sourdough? I made it a while back threw some feta and wallnuts in there it was unreal!
Link to the apron you use by chance?
Great ideas. Thanks for the dough recipe. I'm just not too crazy about burnt crust. You call it charred, but to me it looked just burnt.
@johnhpalmer6098
2 жыл бұрын
There is a subtle difference to it, charred is not quite burnt, in other words, it imparts a smokey aspect to foods, and is still edible, it's done with intention to impart a more intense flavor to foods, but is just beyond the mallard reaction. Burned food is simply inedible, bitter and rank tasting. It's a subtle distinction, at best, but it is a thing.

@@johnhpalmer6098 looking at the first recipe with the bread, you will notice towards the end that Mike had scraped off some of the burnt edges. No way these were "charred". They had reached the point of being carcinogenic. The very black bubbles on the pizza crust didn't look any better. Edible? Maybe. Enjoyable? Not for me.
@johnhpalmer6098

@@ingekohl5097 He didn't scrape anything off the bread. They were on the verge of being burnt in spots due to how the bread browned so quickly as the pizza oven is really for raw pizza dough. I make my own pizza, from scratch, including the dough so I know a thing or two about making a real pizza. This was essentially a pizza like dish using an already baked loaf of bread as the base of the pizza. BTW, went back and just looked at the very first pizza he tries.

agreed so hard. This doesn't look charred to me but purely burnt. That whole bottom of the bread is fully black...
Where do I find the recipe for your over night pizza dough
I actually make my own pizza so maybe I'll try something I love these videos
You gotta get the miyokos vegan mozzarella that comes in liquid form. That is really good. I appreciate you doing a vegan pizza!
Would love that spinach pizza dough recipe
totally add things to the dough. basil, time, oregano, thin cut bell pepper/ serranos. bomb.
That green pizza would be great to make on st patricks day!
where is the link for your overnight pizza dough?
Im wondering if i should try the first one but I am still uneasy about it.
I'm impressed at your level of commitment to the blow up doll impressions in your thumbnails
There's nothing better than an ooni oven our family has 2 of them and we would do pizza nights alot cause they are quick and hands down the best pizza ever. All my friends talk about times we had pizza in it 🤣

I'm vegan now, but I used to eat a lot of dairy. Violife is definitely a good brand, but I never recommend pre-shredded. It won't melt well, just like the way pre-shredded dairy cheese doesn't melt well due to the anti-caking agent. My favorite is the Violife feta block, which melts into something akin to a cheese sauce. It doesn't have the funkiness of dairy feta, it almost seems a little gamey like a buffalo mozzarella or a mild flavor of goat cheese. Because it's soft, it melts into a cream without the stickiness caused by the starch in a dry vegan cheese. I hope you'll try it.
@Jenapantano

I always avoid violife for high temp melting. The coconut oil and starch are not good for it.
Love your stuff..try adding pizza sauce to your crust instead of water. A little fresh whey softens any dough. Try braiding, green, red and plain pizza dough for not only a palate wow but an eye catching twist!!
thanks for this great vegan recipe. I wanna see more of this
Pizza!! Woop woop
some also add charcoal to the dough to help digesting it
My experience with that vegan cheese is you do not want to overcook it. I like it in this recipe I developed: Chickpea Enchiladas Verde 1 15.5 oz. can chickpeas, drained and rinsed Vegan Ranch Dressing 1 small chipotle pepper in adobo sauce a little almond milk 10 to 12 corn tortillas, warmed 1 12 oz. jar Salsa Verde 8 oz. Violife shredded "mozzerella" sprinkle of ground cumin and chili powder s & p EVOO Make vegan ranch dressing and blend in the chipotle pepper in adobo sauce, thinned with a little almond milk. Dry chickpeas with a kitchen towel. Put in a bowl with s & p, a little ground cumin and chili powder and a little oil. Stir. Spread out on parchment-lined sheet. Bake at 350oF for 10 min. Put them back in the bowl and mash them a bit. Add the Chipotle Ranch Dressing and stir to combine. Oil a 9" x 13" baking dish. Add 1/3 to 1/2 of the salsa verde. Divide chickpeas onto tortillas, roll, and place in the baking dish. Top with rest of salsa verde. Top with mozzerella. Cover with foil. Bake at 350oF for 20 min., then uncovered for 10 min. Serve with rice. Ranch Dressing Stir all together. Taste and adjust seasonings. 1/2 c vegan mayo garlic powder and/or fresh minced garlic onion powder dry mustard dried oregano nutritional yeast dried dill dried basil dried parsley s & p paprika or smoked paprika a small cupful of apple cider vinegar vegan milk

in his case add cheese later, those pizza ovens get hot so cooking the doe first then adding cheese once the other ingredients are cooked should do. That way you wont burn the cheese.
Does anyone know what apron Mike uses?
You should use the spinach dough with the elements of the toast on the first one then finish it with prosciutto some micro greens and top it with the truffle oil so you have a ton of fresh mixed with some meat some cooked love idk sounds like a hit to me I really hope you see this message and Maybe try it eventually........
Could you have used a cast iron instead of non stick square pan if you were worried about the non stick coating reacting with the heat of the pizza oven?

I would think so
What type of flour did you use for the overnight pizza dough? Could we get an exact recipe please? The fluffiness was incredible!
Projectile parm had me cackling😂
If you like that tomato sauce with vodka you should have a look into "cinque pi" which is italian for 5 "P's". Pomodoro, Pepe, Panna, Prezzemelo e Parmiggiano. Really nice quick pasta sauce.
OOk OOK make some of that :) not a pizza but still a tasty Italian thing .
I love how she's like "lets make pizza" and makes a green taco.
When you do these types of videos, would you consider adding an additional version at the end grabbing the best aspect of each one to create your own unique version? I think that would be a fun watch.

first one is churched up!
My husband and I don't always have time to sit and eat. Which sucks a lot. Do you have any grab and go eat on the run lunch ideas.
How much can you actually taste the spinach in the crust? Does it not get drowned out by all the other flavors? Just trying to figure out if it's worth it vs, e.g., adding some shredded spinach to the top.
didnt see link for pizza dough recipe
Any particular reason you're not using Vito's dough recipe? :)
Josh Elkin does awesome recipes lol
Hey, got a question. My parents have got their own pizzaoven. The problem is that the dough keeps sticking to the pizzapeel. They tried to use semolina under it, but it doens’t guarantee a good result. After watching your video I thought; is their dough to wet? Forming a pizza on the table is no problem, but after that it often goed wrong.
It is basically a spinach infused Stl Louis Style Pizza dough, probably be great with Provel Cheese!
Dude burnt the shit outta everything
We make palak paratha here in India, which is basically spinanch puree to whole wheat dough and we toast it on a tava.
My favorite pizza is naan bread with pesto, oregano, parsley salt, pepper, parmesan cheese, mozzarella cheese, artichoke. Some like it with chicken too.
Vegan cheese is tricky. Slightly wetting it by mixing it with just a little bit of vegan cream or even sour cream (at least the one kind I get here in germany) makes it melt and crisp up so much better! The taste however is extremely dependent on the brand and honestly most are not too good. In general, I do not use a lot of it and only add it as an additional light flavor on most occasions.

Naive question, shouldn't the tomato sauce have some cooking time, or some sugar to counter the acidity? If I understood right, it was basically just raw tomato
Gee, let's use an 800 degree oven, then wonder why everything's burnt. I must be missing something.

Looks like a peazza!!
At least one of the 4 was a pizza 😂 but all of them fun for some inspiration
This was great! All of these pizzas were so beautiful & made me so hungry lol I did keep thinking it was a shame you didn't have better vegan cheese. The Sauce Stache youtube channel did an episode where he rated & compared all these vegan cheeses & apparently there is finally one that melts like real cheese for pizza. If you've never seen his stuff, or are at all curious about how to make plant-based alternative foods, I highly recommend checking out his channel b/c it's super interesting! :)
I love making pizza, and of course having access to a commercial heat level oven is great but I have no idea how anyone could justify the money that one of these costs against a Pizza Steel or even just putting it towards a commercial grade oven.
@DieHammel

simple answer: even with a pizza steel you'll need to bake your pizza for > 3 mins. Your tomato will lose it's sweetness. That's why you should always bake < 2 mins.
Can we get the promised overnight dough recipe, please?
I love how he called Halle "balle hurns" lol
