Neat plow works good. Talked about no plow lights needed reminded me of my parents neighbor the truck he had. It was a 70s f250 can't remember what plow he had but the truck sat so high he didn't need plow lights. I am thinking it was a highboy but not 100% sure about that. Of course back then the trucks seem to sit higher then today's trucks do. My dad had a 75 f100 and that sat higher then my 01 Silverado does.

I have a boss I installed myself. Wiring was easy, and the was no frame drilling, but I don’t like the low ground clearance when not plowing. I will never hit my rear differential with it installed, but the fisher plates I removed gave way more clearance. I like the plow featured. Except it doesn’t seem to stack snow. I have only had one storm i used the v as a v to break through shush piles that turned to ice while pushing. My transmission runs 150, it doesn’t overheat even with the plow, but my water temp will get high at idle. I click to manual and drop it down a gear and it comes right back down. That’s a new issue with an orielly water pump and thermostat. 08 2500hd

Hey I’ve watched several other videos on this plow. Also installed plenty of plow wiring back in the day. In my opinion plows should be on separate and own wiring. But now they have plow prep wiring on new trucks. It helps lockup these new 8-10 speed trans from shifting into a gear not good for plowing . I see those guys didn’t use a lift . Pretty much on the ground level with cardboard like the hard working homeowner mechanic.

212 -190 is hot on the trans temp, coolant okay I can see that. I upgraded my trans cooler in my 2013 Silverado 1500 and I added a second one to my 2016 3500HD Sierra. On my 3500HD with a Boss 8.2’ XTV I saw 190 degrees trans temp prior to the upgrade after driving it 17 miles on back roads from the dealership to home. Now the truck sees 125-145 degrees on the trans temp with my 7.5’ Boss straight blade. Regular cruising around town the truck rarely gets over 130 degrees. GM transmissions s cool at 190-210 degrees.

Hello Stan that f-12 scrapes nice and clean what a plow you got you should put it against all your plow trucks like your western v plow and boss plows will be a interesting video
After having to cut through the drifts in my "accounts" this year and I quoted that because I'm just opening up a yard or 2 for friends not really getting paid for them but for me a v-plow is the only way to go ... it times I had to get the dirt bucket out on the skid steere just to get through
@Dirtmonkey

@@Dirtmonkey I could have got through with a snow bucket if I had one but one of the local snow guys couldn't get through it with his 6' straight blade it stopped him dead in his tracks it was a bad one
08 2500hd
@Dirtmonkey
2 жыл бұрын
I had to do the same thing with my Hiniker. It habitually overheated my transmission while driving so I shifted down a gear and ran the plow super low. This snopower doesn’t give me those problems
What I find interesting is there seems to be no angling the plow left or right it’s all in the wings, you wouldn’t think you be able to really project the snow one way without angling but that actually works great
It's looks like some good engineering went into the f12, would love to see a comparison to the western wideout or snowex 810, as far as snow production is. Thanks, happy spring, at least here in the northeast!

nice job it looks like it can get that hard packed snow , to bad it didn't have a feature in the blade that has two sold steel blads like a hedge chlipper to break up icy chunky snow as a attachment or built into the plow an how would that perform an would it be useful in that kind of road conditions.

Maybe I missed it but can you angle the whole blade left or right to windrow a 12ft path rather than folding back on of the wings. Very impressive plow.

Great looking plow. they had a demo at the plow convention i went to. but my own eye i believe i can do more with the snow with my dxt that had down pressure. have you tried using a boss plow before?
Hey I’ve watched several other videos on this plow. Also installed plenty of plow wiring back in the day. In my opinion plows should be on separate and own wiring. But now they have plow prep wiring on new trucks. It helps lockup these new 8-10 speed trans from shifting into a gear not good for plowing . I see those guys didn’t use a lift . Pretty much on the ground level with cardboard like the hard working homeowner mechanic.
curious what the temperature was when filming? When we hit temps below -20°C (-4°F) even our loader has a hard time scraping that hard pack down. We have a lot of those days.
Hey Stan love the videos you do so thank you. So I have to ask you is this worth the money? I have a snow power pull plow I love it. I wish it was built a little more heavy duty, so with this I currently run a fisher xls on my personal truck its great and I have a few v blades and western wide out, the combination is great. So do you think this plow worth the money , what you like about it and what do you not like? Have you had any problems with it yet? Idk what's the real scoop lol
I will stick with the BOSS plow! Best made plow out there.
Thank you for the video Stan, what is better, this or Artic 12 feet?

Great question. The wing pressure can be adjusted to hold better. My plan is to adjust that pressure up.
Does the moldboard have down pressure or just the wings?
Do you know if or when they may be available in the east coast? I would be interested in getting one for next season if possible.
