Hot swap-able battery services seems like such a good concept that would only work in countries where companies are willing to set a standard and collaborate. I would love to see this concept in the US.

Based on the method of battery swapping in video, the batteries would most likely be stolen if it's in US. With lawlessness in US, a lot of nice things won't work even if implemented.

I can already tell that this concept soon will fail when people learn to build things around it. imagine you understand the concept and build a battery pack for you solar panel at home using these batteries? and now you are not just using it for travel instead you are charging your battery in the station and use it to power your house. when these thing happens, people will soon steal these batteries and that is when the concept start to Fail. coz the company will end up losing money from stolen batteries or battery swapped with broken one.

This is perfect for Asian countries wer the dominant mode of transpo is a Honda supercub. Wouldnt really be too effective here except for cities with lots of bike and scooters being used already. Which isn't too many places
Hello, hi there! I am one of the first 50 global owners of a Gogoro. Welcome to Taiwan to experience this advanced and cool electric scooter and battery swapping system. For nearly nine years, I have ridden my Gogoro 1 all over Taiwan, checking in at battery swap stations, and have accumulated over 220,000 kilometers. I hope you have the opportunity to ride a Gogoro around Taiwan and complete a round-island journey.

That is some impressive scooter power. And I love the swappable battery tech. Looks like you had an interesting time in Taiwan.

Taiwan looks fun
Cool look into Taiwan
good choice for a vacation / work destination Taiwan is AMAZING in so many ways. (MTC 1990-1993 making Mandarin my second language), and we have done trips back in 2010, 2014 and 2018. The GOGO RO swap system is fantastic for Taipei. FOOD is amazing, Yamingshan is a GREAT Test. (rode that in the old days on my 125cc Sanyang classic motorcycle) have fun and eat some Beef Noodle Soup Nio ro Mian. If your mountain climb is there on the north side of Taipei there are 7 peaks of around 1100 meters (Taiwan's mountains reach 4000 meters on the tallest one further south) Still very impressive to up there at all on electric scoots. Great riding area, and mirrors are great on the switchbacks to see around the corners a bit for safety. Be sure to return to Taiwan there is far more to see around the island (really multiple islands, but even the main island)

I never thought id want a electric scooter but with swappable battery station that could even be set up at gas stations that changes the game on a hole new level
Buying gogro stock after seeing this
Awesome video, I'm a fan of Gogoro and can't wait to see them progress with more success. I wish we had electric scooter only highways here in the states.
I'm enjoying a visit to Taiwan vicariously with you!
Never heard of this before or the battery swapping system. Props to them, we will see if in the future they can extend to more countries.
Thanks for bringing me along
This is such a great idea. Delivery riders would probably love these scooters, but I would love it, also, as a commuter vehicle.
Thanks for the info, look like you had a lot of fun . Keep it coming 😊
That was a fun video filled with so much content! I think more trip videos may be in your future! 😊
WOW, what a scooter.
This trip looks like it was so much fun. Thanks for sharing it. This trip is now officially on my bucket list, haha. Those swappable battery electric scooters in a big city who's infrastructure is built with scooters in mind is incredible. So many cars that don't need to be driving where a scooter is all that is needed to get around.

It was great never having to check baggage, but flight attendents who offered to hang it for me changed their mind quickly when they realize how heavy it was. I actually pulled the metal hook straight when hanging it and had to make a more robust hook. Seams and zippers held though..

Battery technology needs to evolve more before EV's become more ubiquitous. Currently, the environmental damage from the materials and energy required to build batteries with a limited lifespan limits their potential advantage over fossil fuels.
very interesting system been reading on the so1 scooter and so4 car use same batteries removable
Please show more in depth on the factory if you can.
It's a shame laws in the US have basically made mopeds irrelevant. In many states you still have to be 16 years old just like a normal car to drive yet they also have a speed restriction of 25-28mph depending on the state. It makes them have basically no advantages at all absolutely killing their value in the market. Plus some states also require a separate license, though usually it's a one time thing with no test. If you had anything faster it has to be registered as a motorcycle and you now need a motorcycle license and insurance. That just ruins the benefits of it if it has all the complications of a car without the ability to drive in the rain.
Please get in contact with me I'm having a problem figuring out what type throttle to buy for the controller for my 1000 w 47 volt I just started building electric bikes from kits my controller and throttling bad I bought a correct controller but I do not know how to find the throttle to match the controller
how diffiult would it be to charge a 48v ebike battery with a victron MPPT?

Hi bro.i want travel with my ebike using solar panel for charging my 48 v battery and i want learn how i calculate the power from solar to my battery ?
Congrats Matthew, do we have to enter every time or is our entry always there for the next one?
Maybe I missed it in the video. How much do they cost to swap, and how much do the scooters cost to buy. Also I'm curious how long it takes to charge those depleted batteries
have we all been spelling your name wrong this whole time or did the airport spell it wrong??? lol great video dude
Future scooter companies can collaborate with gogoro so we can start to see a universal battery swapping system which may make EVs an actual viable option for super long distance travel

I am more than curious about the Pulse, a few things I need to know, first off, will it come to the US? Second, can you charge at home and bring spare batteries to avoid using their battery stations and paid plans? And lastly, what is the final USD price on these things? I keep coming up with different totals, $3000 would be the sweet spot to make me save and pull the trigger, any higher and I'd just look into a Chrome Night
The swap system looks great, Do you know if they have plans to come to the US?

I'm an OApensioner from Wales in the UK. Love your videos, been watching them for ages. Do they sell Gogoro's latest scooter in UK as getting my leg over my Honda Rebel is getting high on impossible and whilst I'd love a touring Zero the pricing is still not justified? Keep keeping us informed.
So.. the user has to purchase the scooter first, then a monthly subscription to the battery swap service? What are the associated costs involved? Can a user recharge their scooters at home, is there an advantage to do so? The food looked amazing! You should do more trips like this.
