Based on your video it seems like most of the items tested work just fine and as these laptops become more popular I expect that other programs or devices will eventually work as well. Good news as I have been looking at the 16" laptop that Samsung offers. I have an older Surface Laptop and I loved it. Top notch hardware.

Cool! Could you check if it can run After Effects and Cinema 4D on this machine?

I think within 6 months to a year Windows on ARM will be totally better and going strong.

My guess for VPNs is that many (most) VPNs end up creating a virtual network adapter in Windows to work correctly, which might be outside the capabilities of Microsoft's emulation layer (for now). Hence the need for ARM native builds for VPN software.

Has anyone tried running an Java program on one of these devices? I guess I am returning my book 4 edge because there is not even a jdk for arm yet and we do not know when they would come.

Thanks for making this video!! Looks like most things are basically functional. But we need to watch out for compatibility. Drivers and compatibility is a problem even in the X86 world with different versions of Windows and Linux. So it will take a while for x elite to be broadly compatible with everything smoothly.

Thank you for being one of the very few (if not the only) tech influencers that are actually showing real world, logical, use with the Surface Laptop 7. I'm planning on getting one and was worried about the practicality of this device--especially with printers. This video makes me feel confident that I will be making a good purchase.

What about android apps since it is an arm chip, like i love cod mobile and use dex on a lapdock but itd be nice not to have to switch to my pc to play my steam games

Hm, Capcut 4.1. beta 4 is still x64 on my Surface Pro X. 4.0 (from the Store) is arm64, but 4.1 beta 4 is still x64.

Are we talking about installed from the Microsoft Store? The version from their website is x86, but the one in the Microsoft Store is ARM.

Yes. Even made for ARM.

I don't hate Windows, but i will buy a macbook instead of this. I can't buy a PC at this price point that can't run League of Legends.
