    I know this is over a year old but I’m back in the baby monitor search game now that Amazon is officially killing their Cloud Cams - which worked pretty great with Our Echo Show. (Not perfect by any means but did more than anything else I’ve seen out there.) Anyway, thanks for this! Would love an update if you happen to have found something worthwhile!

    Thanks for this video. I bought the echo show 10 bc I thought I could see my nanit feed with it. That skill is garbage. It never works. Highly disappointing, but I am glad to see it's not just me lol.

    The Nanit show skill on my Alexa shows the video feed, but it’s super annoying that the video and audio lag crazily. Their own app works well in the same network without problem.

    Your videos are super helpful, thank you! My husband and I are generally not indecisive but baby monitors have us stumped. We like the idea of the Miku but want a separate parent unit (to view video). We live in a small place so i feel like by the time we open and load an app, we may as well have just gone into baby's room to check them. We are also in Aus so I feel like our options are limited to pretty low quality video products. In your opinion what's the best monitor available in Aus with a separate parent unit?

    Thank you for the kind words! Unfortunately the options for monitors with an app and a separate monitor are kinda slim. We tested the Motorola Halo but it didn’t work that well for me.

    @@Fathercraft thank you, I'm not too fussed on an app, just a good quality camera and parent unit. Would be so good if you could purchase parent units as an optional extra!

    Thanks for the video, we just got the Echo Show 10 for what we thought was full nanit app functionality, but instead, just these garbage few skills. Do you happen to know of any other option for displaying Nanit video, other then your cell phone OR having to get a newer tablet to setup on your end table/night stand/kitchen etc etc?

    @@Fathercraft next time -- just change your 'wake word' to computer, or echo, that way it won't trigger the majority of others' devices, and you won't have to spend extra time editing :)

    Wouldnt it be better to buy another echo show and mount it on the crib in a angle and just drop in?

    Hey this is cool, as I decide between these baby monitors, I have 2 questions: 1. Can Echo (non video) play just the continuous sound? 2. Does Alexa count as a device? As nanit basic only allows 2 devices to connect which is a problem if we already have 2 phones connected? Thank you FYI: Watching from South Africa :)

  • @Fathercraft

    @Fathercraft

    3 жыл бұрын

    Thanks for watching! 1) No - audio only feed is not available 2) This is a great question and unfortunately I don't have a definitive answer. My guess is Alexa doesn't count as a device because it's not configured within the Nanit app and acts more like an extension of one of the accounts you have setup.

    Hello Friend, I have two Xiaomi Cameras, the 360 and the basic, I already linked the account with the Mi Home skill and Alexa recognized the 2 cameras, but when I asked to show me the camera, it says not possible to connect, no compatible, device no supported, but the specifications of the camera say it is compatible, do you have any idea what can I do?

    I had to return the owlet because of incompatibility with my xfinity 5ghz internet. I wish I'd known this before making the purchase. Does nanit work with 5ghz wifi?

  • @Fathercraft

    It does but the 2ghz band works better in my opinion, unless the monitor is fairly close to your router.

    It’s not just you. It’s miserable. I got the Nanit and a few echo shows. I can’t rely on them and have to have a backup audio monitor. I go to sleep with an echo show next to me showing my baby. Few hours later if I wake up - it’s just not showing my baby anymore. How can I sleep well knowing that midway through the night my monitor is just going to stop showing and playing nursery room?! Wildly frustrating
