@7erdogdu after Mercedes 190D , BMW 2002, 1st VW TDi generations , they are just " bad" as any other brand. E.g. a Peugeot ( PSA group) , French engineering it's equally reliable. Regarding motorcycles 1st GS's are very good as well, but on this field , for way less money Honda, Yamaha will serve you well.

Hope AT brings back the larger wheels 21-18 inches that were on the predecessor in 2013 and earlier come back and that it gets 50 Hp more horsepower + that even those of us who are a little taller than 85 can get a little better wind protection etc. From a Swede 🇸🇪

Thank you - GREAT review. Very relatable style you have. Absoultely love yoput terminator accent 🙂 Arnie would definitely approve! Looking at this magnificent machine after, sadly, the unreliability of my 2014 Multistrada. Less power but an easier life, methinks. Plenty of go anyway, especially down low. Love DCT. Will wait 'til the 2025 model as strongly rumored to have the supercharger! Cheers from Sydney Australia.

I have ALWAYS stated that Africa Twin Adventure Sports with 19 inch front wheel would be perfect as it would make the handling better, the center of gravity lower and make the bike more approachable. It is great to see this change finally arrive!

No, I prefer the old one, I just bought a new 2023 manual ES with 21 inch front wheel, saved £2000 and I prefer it. Although I am tall. I did order the 2024 seat though and it's VERY comfortable!! also many more accessories readily available for it. I might upgrade in 5 years time.

Excellent review brother !!! You're not the only one that said that you don't quite feel that 7% torque bump on the new model , other test drivers said the same thing . My question to you is : does the engine feels like it's running smoother on the new model comparing to the old one or it still feels like it runs the same ?

I love the bike, but I still want it to be bigger & more powerful. I want 1200-1300ccm - 130-150Hp - drive shaft. Basically I want a new VFR 1200F CrossTourer. And too bad that Yamaha didn't replace the SuperTenere 1200......

Good preliminary review! I think that most of the AS models were not taken off-road and Honda knew that, hence the change in front wheel size. Of course they still have the base 21" wheel model. Overall, some good but subtle changes to the lineup as it appears that Honda was listening to their customer base; to an extent. The biggest complaints were no tubeless tires, non-adjustable windshield, windflow management, and an uncomfortable seat. Honda did NOT release any 2023 Africa Twins to the American market, and still no word from them on whether the 2024 models will come. I find that unusual to say the least.

Hi there I really think your feedback could help me with a difficult decision I’m making. I’m 1.88 cm tall, 30 years old, and I’m deciding whether to buy a 2020-2023 model or a 2024. The 2020-2023 Africa size was what mainly drew me to it; i liked its 21 wheel too because it inspired me to try off-road more and im sure I’ll like it, although I know that I will mostly drive it on tarmac. With the new model Honda threw me off because it’s actually what I think I’ll need out of this bike, maybe I’ll still be able to approach light off-road while maintaining a good handling on the road, but I’m afraid it is now too small for me or that the smaller front wheel will actually affect the use I could do of it off road in the long run. I don’t know that because I don’t have off-road experience. What model year do you think might suit me the best?

If the higher price is not an issue I would recommend the new one. If you are not yet an experienced offroad-rider and just want to try some light gravel/forest-tracks, the 19 inch frontwheel is more than good enough. And if the offroad-virus gets you and you want more, you will most likely get another, more suitable bike than the ATAS either way, because even with the 21"-wheel ut is a heavy bike with not ideal ergonomics for offroad-riding. On the other hand you will have more fun and control an the tarmac with the 19"-wheel on the new ATAS. Your size shouldnt be a problem. I am 1,85 m myself and there is loads of space on the ATAS. But go for a testride to make sure. I hope I could help you somewhat. Greetings from Austria, McGregor

I don’t like the uphill process of specking up the bmw’s… you end up spending a stupid amount of money, and if you don’t click all the boxes you’re left feeling like you’re poor, or don’t have enough money. Plus, if you don’t have all the bells and whistles the depreciation will be enormous… it may work out on a PCP deal but if you’re really buying it… naaa…
