Africa Twin Adventure Sports ES
Designed for touring performance, the 2024 Africa Twin Adventure Sports ES receives a renewed on-road focus. In addition to the platform-wide updates like a redesigned intake/exhaust, adjusted valve timing, increased compression, revised styling, and updated electronics, the Adventure Sports versions now benefit from a lower seat height that improves on-road handling, thanks to shorter suspension travel and a new 19-inch front wheel. To maximize rider comfort and convenience for long days in the saddle, the Africa Twin Adventure Sports ES continues to boast features like electronically controlled suspension, heated grips, and a larger fuel tank, and it’s available with a manual transmission or DCT.
Africa Twin
The Africa Twin has always embodied the spirit of adventure, allowing riders to explore further and discover new routes with confidence. For 2024, refinements to the standard Africa Twin versions further their capability to navigate off-road terrain while also boosting performance and comfort on the pavement. A new five-position windscreen, tubeless tires and revised fairing design enhance the Africa Twin’s versatility and comfort. Plus, with platform-wide updates like the revised valve timing, increased compression, redesigned intake/exhaust and updated electronics, this adventure icon delivers an incredible riding experience across a wide variety of conditions.

All versions benefit from updated electronic settings, a redesigned intake/exhaust layout, engine updates, revised styling, tubeless tires, and more. Six-axis Bosch IMU control; cornering ABS provides sure-footed braking and features an off-road setting.
Tubeless tires (previously only fitted on the Adventure Sports versions) are now also fitted on the 21/18-inch wheels of the standard versions.
The 1,084cc twin-cylinder engine generates stronger power and torque in the low- to mid-rpm range.
Compression ratio raised to from 10.1:1 to 10.5:1, alongside development of ECU settings, valve timing, intake and exhaust.
Dual Clutch Transmission is updated for smoother, more natural feel at low speeds.
On standard versions, new 5-way height-adjustable windscreen extends on-road comfort.
Adventure Sports versions’ new front fairing adds muscular looks and improves wind protection.

My vote for the GOAT Africa Twin is the one that’s working; the go AT? That self-evident axiom aside, I can’t make a persuasive argument that the farkled ‘18 AT DCT I ride and own is “the best” but I can say the newest renditions don’t make me want to trade up . . . or down. There’s something about loving a bike so much you can’t wait to change it; I do believe my wife has the same attitude about me, and we’ve been married for 45 years. I’m not sure what else I can change on my ‘18 to make it better, but I can say all the changes I’ve made make it a keeper and a great motorcycle.

@hegyeliandras7518 It has always been quality made compared with other brands, you can see and compare the quality starting from the plastic buttons and finishings. Lately the components are becoming more and more expensive unexplainable considering that the overall price of the bikes has decreased or there are better in terms of the price quality ratio

It looks and sounds like a great bike but I'm not interested in a DCT. I've never ridden one so I could be wrong but when I looked at them in the showroom it seemed just way too big and heavy for something I'd want to take off-road which is why I went with the Transalp

Dct is problematic if you're out in the wild and you crash. Might damage the dct motor and you're stuck in 1 gear. Plus you can't push start it

  • @mattyb7736

You're wrong, try it before saying its useless. . DCT is great off road, different riding style as you need to use the rear brake to compensate for not having a manual clutch. Great bit is that you can't stall, it and taking off on an incline is a breeze. Don't forget to turn off that damned wheelie control otherwise it thinks a steep hill climb is a wheelie and shuts down. I've dropped mine a few times, not sure how you can hit the dct motor, its behind the left cylinder.

@@mattyb7736 bruh I've worked on honda dcts, alot of problems lol, a customer dropped his bike and he's stuck in 3rd gear because his dct motor is out of alignment. Imagine you dropped it in the trail😂 btw Africa twin dct motor is on the left side. Unprotected

@@boomblab23 yep, and behind the left cylinder. Mines been down on both sides and never an issue. I dont see how the motor can get out of alignment, it only rotates and drives the selector drum like a manual shift lever does. Cam plate and sensor maybe, but not the motor itself. DCT reset sequence might fix it.
