Test Drive 1997 Camaro Z28 only 67,000 miles Full Exhaust SOLD Classic Car Addict

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

Classic Car Addict is excited to present this 1997 Chevrolet Camaro Z28 for sale in our Mesa, AZ showroom. Even though the Z28 was not the most potent in its lineup, it was just ten ponies shy of its Super Sport brother. In straight-line acceleration, that didn't matter that much. True, the SS was better on a road-course, but for the quarter-mile run, that was less important. For the hard-core Chevy fans, the Z28 resembled the glorious second-generation Camaro that was faster than its more powerful sibling, thanks to its lighter engine.
The design language of the fourth-gen Camaro still looks sleek by modern-day standards. The black paint is in great shape (did have a respray at some point). The tinted T-tops adds to the car’s jet-cockpit styling, and aerodynamic sideview mirrors coupled with an integrated trunk spoiler provide the right design cues to help the car look fast at any speed. This example is equipped with dual rectangular exhaust tips and integrated fog lamps up front. From the outside, the Z28 featured the new headlights design with an ovoid-shaped, twin-lamps system and the turn-signals mounted lower into the bumper. Additional upgrades are an SS hood, SS rims, and SS spoiler. It features European taillights and HID headlights and fog lights.
Inside, Chevrolet installed gray leather sport bucket-seats at the front and a small bench in the rear. The dashboard was centered around the driver, with a tilted center stack. Between the front seats, a tall center console filled the space with a storage compartment, the handbrake, and the gearstick. Convenience features include A/C, cruise, folding rear seat, tilt wheel, keyless entry, analogue gauge package, anti-theft, and an upgraded Sony FM/AM/CD/AUX player. Other creature comforts include 6-way power driver seat, power locks, power-tinted windows, tinted T-tops, and remote trunk.
Under the hood, the 5.7-liter LT1 engine provided 315 hp, ten less than the SS version. But that wasn't a problem since the LT1 was one of the easiest to tune and upgrade V-8s on the market. The engineers paired the engine with a 6-speed manual. We like the way the Z28 sounds when it starts. The engine crackles and rumbles, then settles into a smooth idle. Next you hear a deep burble from the dual Flowmaster exhaust pipes poking out under the rear bumper. Additional upgrades include 3:42 limited slip rear end, Hooker competition long tube headers, Edelbrock airgap RPM intake manifold, 58mm throttle body, BMR strut tower brace and MSD coils. The entire A/C system was also recently replaced with warranty.
It’s safe to say that this 65k Camaro’s heartbeat is still beating strong and healthy. All in all, the Z28 just may be the next best thing to a Corvette. Sold on a clean title with car cover as well. I ordered a "COPO" 1997 30th Anniversary (printed into the seats) Z28, so I could get it WITHOUT a stupid T-top....I eliminated the "skip-shift", too. The trans worked right, after that. I did BREAK the front anti-roll bar in half....tore-up the hood insulation, when the serpentine belt came apart...but, I'm FINE with small block Chevys! ...even got one in my salmon boat!
