Tesoro 7' Inch Wide Scan Coil VS 8' Inch Concentric Coil
In this video I demonstrate why I opt to use the 7' DD wide scan coil over the 8' Concentric Coil. I believe it's better at unmasking in iron. I will be seeing how the 7' CC compares to the 7'DD in a future video.

Perfect demonstration.
Nice video, hope your well. Great to see Eric doing well and stealing the show! 🙂.
Nice tests, just goes to show that there is no one size fits all coil or machine. Thanks for a great video.
Surprising result for the 8'' polo
Forgot to mention, great to see Eric making an appearance again!😊
Paul, your videos are 'exactly what the doctor ordered', as 'they' say. The bare-balls truth, backed up with basic facts. No bs, frills or "props". These old vlf singles send their own messages as proficient finders, on heavily contaminated sites (which where 75-80% of the most sought after finds tend to be, and are to been found). Same with the concentric search coils. They've all found hoards too. That Staffs Hoard. The Jersey LIA hoard: Xp? ML? NM? Maseratti? So, for me, your channel is: The Best of the Brits: though Gary B is a top man, who really knows his trade imo. Over the years I've found some top men, over the Pond (far removed from🤔🧐), that really know the craic. Your channel is educational: it is essential watching for newcomers, who are genuinely willing, and needing, to learn. Sadly, there many too many "Pimps" are out there: waiting like a stalking butler, who upon the £ sign rests.

Thanks for your kind words Tim ❤️🔥
The wide scan (DD) coils are definitely better at seeing “around” iron that is covering a non ferrous target. It’s a trade off though because sometimes the concentric coil sees a target next to iron that a DD coil won’t. Just a difference of how the TX and RX coils are situated. Each one has a strongpoint and a shortcoming. Either way, Tesoros are excellent detectors and extremely enjoyable to use!!!
hello Paul thank you for the detailed answer to my question, i agree that a huge part in the unmasking effect has to do with the smaller footprint and different geometry of the coil (DD), the fact that older tesoros had an ED120 discrimination circuit ( with a significantly reduced window for averaged down non ferrous signals to get trough the filter compared to the ED180) could play a role as well.

Very interesting 👍🏻
Just looked up the rapier. Its like a mix between our cibola (14khz 4 pin coil) and a compadre at 12. Does it take 4 pin delta couls or 5 pin epsilon coils? (Coil connector terminals) Seems like you guys got some nice tesoro models that came over there. Lol.
Thats why I don't use mono coils. To many downsides... Small scanning zone, bad 3d separation, bad disc in mineral ground
Very vinteresting...as they say in German 😅
