Tesla Terafactory Texas Update

Hey everyone, it’s Randy! Today’s footage shows the latest updates happening all around the site. We see the latest GigaPress foundation updates and increased space frame activity at the north end of the factory and over on the south end, we have major work going on within the Southern Gap, especially within the pit. Let’s jump right into it.
Here are today’s key takeaways:
- The north end shows another completed space frame section getting ready to be installed either today or tomorrow. The space frame area north of the large parking lot shows another section is being assembled next to the other 2 completed ones.
- The GigaPress area shows continued work on the new foundations being installed. It’s a bit hard to tell but the near one shown here may have already had concrete poured in the bottom of it. We can also see rebar and forms set up for the pouring of the floor areas around them as well. On the roof, we see work has started installing the WWM for the last section that needs to be poured.
- The south end of the southern gap still shows the drilled shaft work taking place on the upper level of ground outside of the pit. On the opposite end, work on the footings needed in this area is full speed ahead as more rebar and forms are put into place and more of the vertical columns are being formed as well. Here we can see that the footings have actually reached about to the halfway mark of the pit as they are right next to the rig on the west side.
- The southwest corner trenches dug across the perimeter road shows that the conduit laid is already being buried and we can also see that the perimeter grade beam is taking shape in this area.
- We wrap up with a more detailed look at the Bobcat Project area that was cleared a while back and now looks to be the next site of significant activity.

I have to laugh for a second, please join me... These guys working this site are like the first generation of workers working on a massive worksite with fakoking drones buzzing around everywhere they go with you, Joe, the rest of the quad squad doing it every day. I guess they get used to it after a while with the sound of the drone just kinda blending in with the rest of the construction going on, but you guys have kind of created a new segment of media called CONSTRUCTION PORN. Love the updates Randy! I know you have a ceiling you have to fly under due to your close proximity to the airport, but I'd love to see the site/building from a really high perspective. How close have you guys flown toward the ceiling? Is your drone limited in how high you can fly it due to "it knowing" your close proximity to the airport?

I think the south pit is for the CyberTruck. The CT will be made with new techniques/technology, and the south pit is made different from the other areas. The CT is delayed anyway to 2022, and it looks like the south pit will be the last to be completed, so it perfect timing for the CT

Looking at Giga Shanghai there is way more loading bays. Wondering how material will get delivered and distributed here at Giga Texas, maybe there will be some innovative solution aka external conveyor pulling containers inside through tunnels or something? ;-)

Shanghai leaves trailers in the bays and pulls stock as needed. Austin will need to rapidly empty trailers and turn around for the next type of stock. That implies that Austin stock will be moved in forklift convoys and queued near the assembly lines. I think that will improve floor traffic.

it looks like a bottleneck from drone. What you dont see is that the factory is over a kilometer long. So it looks like a bottle neck, but it not. Ive seen that with two eyes, its not. The reason its there, is because Austin has bad rain problems. Austin gets absolute dump truck rain storms. So when theres water on the highway and its filling the drains, they don't want water to run off the highway INTO the gigafactory. They will not get rid of that hill inbetween the highway and the giga because it prevents water from draining directly into the factory.

I asked on Joe Tegtmeyer's 09 Sept 2021 video, and I'll state/ask here as well at 0:40 / 3:45: are the two giga-casting foundations currently under construction for machines #4 & 5, or are these for machines # 5 & 6? I think there's a foundation slab in background that could accept a giga-casting machine; there's certainly over-head gantry crane space (to be installed) for such. Thoughts?

I just now counted 18 more solar installs in Texas, under construction, set to finish before the end of the year, all of which occupy more acres than Tesla owns here. So even if Tesla covered every square inch of it's Austin property with solar, it would only be the 25th largest solar install in the state.
