Raj - Will the refreshed Model S&X have the ability to see FSD visualization on MCU? Now we see it just on the small screen and we don't see creep line etc. Good video.

I have 60k miles on my 2018 LR Model 3. Original rated range per charge was 310 miles

Great summary. Remember when they mentioned the screen would show the types and colors of other teslas? That should be easy being they know where all of their cars are. There would be so cool! Hope they drop that soon

Hi Raj. Coming to you from Dublin Ireland. Thank you for the up and coming updates. I've been watching you for years on KZread and I very much like your content. Just a little comment about the background music. Background music makes it more difficult for people like me that are on the cemetery side of 60 with hard of hearing to make out what you're saying, sometimes I have to rewind to clarify what you actually said because of the background music. Will owners with Intel get sentry notification? In EU I receive no notification when sentry is trigged.. This would be nice feature..

@@TeslaRaj it’s always a good feeling when you respond to peoples comments! The release notes got published and unfortunately you need premium connectivity for the video to view the alert. Kinda wish they would just give us a little freebie there. But the release notes mention some pretty awesome stuff so I’m looking forward to that!

When the big car graphic goes larger when parked. Will we loose the ability to access the map large screen? I like to scroll about that big map sometimes to find places. That would be a big downside to this change.

Would have thought the Atom would have been able to support what still looks like a pretty simple render and map. Assume the trunk feature requires UWB (and presumably a UWB phone) - hence only on 3 refresh/ Highland and refresh S/ X

I’m actually excited to see they are coming out with a large update in the spring as opposed to just a Christmas update. I hope this trend continues and we see large updates on a semi-annual basis.

They are the 19 inch Gemini wheels. They come standard with the model Y, but you can also put them on the model 3 after delivery

You would think but it didn’t call it out. Said only new Model 3. Wonder if it has something to do with 2 powered struts or some hardware wiring not present before that. But in my opinion all powered trunks should get it

Impatiently waiting for it to arrive in Spain in October...

Unfortunately a 2018 model 3 will not get the spring update, only the cars with AMD Ryzen will get the update.

Trunk sensor and video sentry mode is the best. 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼

Cant wait to try this out but not holding my breath, I still haven't received the FSD supervised trial yet 😮

I want v12 FSD as I paid for the subscription a couple days ago. Tesla gave me version the older v11. I Keep waiting every day for update and no update. Getting pissed off and why am I getting screwed when everyone else seems to be getting v12.

No one on the 2024.8 branch of the firmware has v12 FSD. Last Saturday, Rohan Patel (before he left the company) tweeted saying the 2024.8 branch should be getting v12 this week. You're not alone. But we all should be getting v12 pretty soon. IMO a few weeks delay is not a big deal. I've worked in software for many years and I'm very impressed by how fast these Tesla updates are. I don't mind waiting as long as they don't brick my car and they don't cause safety issues.

the trunk thing is not really big deal because we have it as siri voice command. I have it for frunk and trunk. Hey siri, open trunk/hood. I say it before I get to my car and no waiting for trunk to open

The hands free trunk requires the car to have UWB hardware as well as your phone. Current Model Y's don't have it.

Intel in my ‘21 M3 SR+, so no go on some of those improvements. I can’t complain as I got 3 years of OTA updates, and like you, my car is much different and better than when it was delivered to my house. Like others here, I think it’d be great to be able to retrofit an AMD chip on the older cars. But c’est la vie. I still love my poor man’s Tesla❤!

I'm not as forgiving I'm afraid. If it were truly down to a hardware limitation, I might give a little slack, but I don't believe for one minute that HW3 Intel Atom cars are capable of FSD Supervised but can't cope with a few UI changes.

I'll have to order a brand new Tesla just to get the little map overlaid in the top right corner when FSD visualization is in full-screen... SAD!☹

@@DjMile021 Bad examples because you don't have to get a new PC to get the latest OS. Apple cuts support for older iOS devices prematurely to encourage new sales and product churn, not because they are not capable of receiving updates. Having to get a new phone every few years to keep up also sucks but at least its only 1K. I'm not going to be swapping out my 58K car every few years because Tesla has decided to omit a few UI changes that are also not down to hardware limitations.

I’m like you, 2018 Model 3. Feeling left out, but I understand why. Just wish the company would provide the option to retrofit if it’s technically possible. Even if it’s a ridiculous price. Puts the decision back in the hands of the customer. This was bound to happen, and honestly slower rate at which phones require an upgrade to take advantage of all software. Little bummed but again if they could provide us the option to pay out of pocket for upgrades, I think that would be very reasonable. They definitely don’t owe us anything. Congrats for those getting these cool features. Jealous!

Won’t ever be proper until they stop using camera algorithms and use an actual rain sensor. For this reason I don’t use the auto function very much. I use it manually… sadly.

Why do you think the full screen vehicle is cool? Why do I need this to be any bigger? I want to see the map to plan my trip, no the car.... It uses 90% of the screen for what basically are 3 buttons...

I really really want tesla to make upgrades available for non AMD MCU upgrades. i will pay.

The only change that non AMD cars that are not getting is the UI update when parked. The sentry mode, audible and spotify updates should still come for non-AMD cars. I highly doubt they will offer a retrofit option since now they are not making HW3 stuff as much anymore and focusing on HW4 MCUs.

This is why I always lease cars, especially technology heavy cars! Technology moves so quickly that I don’t want to spend 4-6 years repaying back a loan. Anybody that finances a car for six years is insane (just saying). A truck I could see for 6 years if you’re gonna keep it for more than 12 years, a car though, not a good idea. I want a new car every 3 years. Leasing avoids your car, no longer getting software updates because of it not having the right processor.

but the software updates are not the issue here. Some features may not apply and lets be honest its not the majority of the time. Intel atom teslas will still get the Sentry mode feature, the audible and spotify changes. If you have a 2018 M3 or 2019 MY you are still getting software updates today. I get the point of what you are trying to say but unlike most legacy cars where the software updates are just lacking after the first 2 years of the car, Teslas have been pretty good at updating their software.

Meh. UI updates are ok I guess. Most of the other updates don’t even apply to the model y.

I'd be happy with TSLA stock getting back above $200.

@Tesla Raj I don't know why you're so excited when most of the updates are not available to your car. I am in a similar situation, I find it hard to believe that HW3 vehicles are capable of FSD Supervised but not capable of having a few UI changes. Frankly Tesla's recent moves have actually disappointed me and dented my enthusiasm for the brand which was previously rock solid. Omitting cars from simple UI updates that I don't believe for 1 second are due to hardware limitations, omitting cars with USS from 3D auto park etc, just seems like a deepening fragmentation of the software and doesn't exactly please earlier owners.

I'm feeling a little bit left out. I know that when Tesla went to the new Ryzen chip, that Elon tweeted (if we can still say that!) that is was not able to be retro fitted. However, I hope after a couple years, that they might have come up with a solution. In Australia, we're champing at the bit to see V12 FSD!

I know. Its sad. It just doesnt seem to be that graphically intense that the Intel chip couldnt handle it. Hopefully it can be done at a later point.
