Got my Model Y in July last year. I have 50k miles as of yesterday. Had a door actuator button fail under warranty, bought new tires and wiper fluid. Never changed the oil....not even once.

Also, I think your max range is based on your driving style. I drive 50% highway and 50% secondary. My current max range is 298. My lifetime efficiency is 280kWh/mi for you to compare.

No flats for me. I had SRY and loved the 19s. Got 19s for my MYP with sottos, and love them. Might get a summer set and sell 21s. Might get a set for my 3 too. I think the 19s are amazing.

On the subject of painting your calipers. Definitely go white for the color. I went white with the Tesla logo and painted the Gemini rims a very dark copper/bronze. The white contrast isn’t too much but nice with the white paint of the Y.

Your videos are great man. Just took a trip to Florida and rented a model y performance just to try it because i watch your videos and now i gotta have one. This is coming from a car enthusiast with a c7z06. Keep up the videos they are great.

I had heard that Tesla was going to update the range to be more realistic so that may be what you are seeing in change in range as 30k seems to early for battery degradation.

Do you Supercharge very often? Have you noticed Supercharging slowing down/tapering more than when new? My Model S supercharges very slowly now, and it’s prohibitively affecting my owners experience. It’s fine when around town, but if I have a 200-300 mile trip for work, I now have to factor in 2-3 Supercharging trips. What used to be 20 minute sessions are now 45min-1 hour sessions. I’d like to know if the Model Y with newer battery technology has fared any better?

When I drove across the country I supercharged a lot and it seemed to be consistent. I have not noticed any issues yet

Hi, I'm making the transition from a Long Beach Blue N55 M2 just like you have in your garage to a Model Y Peformance. Put in the order yesterday evening and the car should be arriving in a few months. What should I expect? I'm afraid I'll miss the M2 badly, but the tax benefits on a company were too much in favour of the Tesla.

Which 3D floor mats did you get?

My former 2016 Audi A6 with low profile 19" tires had an un-luxury ride and awful wind noise at 60+ mph, way worse than my '21 Model 3 with 18" wheels & double paned glass. Not to mention the M3's much more compliant seats, specially on long trips. But that's my own experience after driving it 4k+ miles .... can't speak for anyone else.

When did you underline your dual motor badge?

Gjeebs- have you gotten mileage decrease after 20K Miles? My 100%!charge only shows 301 miles of range I have a 21 Model Y Long Range

Mine is on order with an estimated February delivery. I’m coming from a 2nd generation Acura MDX. I hope the smaller size of the Y won’t be a hindrance. I’ve only seen a Y up close in person once, and I was actually surprised it was bigger in person than I thought it would be.

I have a 7-seat Y with the 19" wheels. The payload sticker near the driver's door says its max payload is 525 kg, which is very competitive amongst crossovers. My understanding though is that you take a 300 lb payload hit with the 20" wheels. Something to think about/research. That said, I love mine. It's spacious enough as is, but with a cargo box on the roof rack and bike rack on the hitch, it can carry a lot of stuff.

My wife and I have a 2021 Model Y. I found the air conditioner to be “all or nothing”. Set it to LO and it’s freezing. Set it to 65° and I’m constantly checking to see if the thing is on. So usually I blast it for a few minutes on LO and then I turn it back up to 65

Seems weird that it only gets 285-290 from 316. Reason I say that because my 2014 MS 60kw rated 208 new has over 130k miles now and I still get 185-190 100% percent but significantly less when winter comes still gets me from point a to b though till my Cybertruck comes lol

They use different battery, Try to keep your MY plug in all the time ( from Tesla Owner Manual ) . Even if you dont need to charge. Keep the electricity flowing to MY. Keep the charging limites to 80% and let it sit for couple night. Then go to the display by taking dispaly miles divided by display Percentage, see what you get :) , such as 263 miles / 0.8 = 328.50 which is on my 2021 MY

I think the desert messes that up. Extreme cold is worse for batteries but no way that extreme heat is good for range.

Just received my Model Y and wondering if hearing the fan and compressor is a normal thing? It’s kinda loud. I’m here in San Antonio so hot and humid so not sure if I should be hearing it all the time.

Why do you think so many more people want the long range as opposed to the performance… it’s only a 30 mile range difference… is there any other downsides to the performance?

More wear and tear on your tires , worse ride. The LR isn’t as fast but at 4.8 seconds … that beats out most mid range performance sedans. For $2000 extra you can boost it to 4.2 seconds.

Your tesla is brilliant 👏 golf ⛳, it's not for me, fully charge then fully discharge and then you will see better range again this should bedoneeveryso often, also tyres your pressure is so important at least once a week check, this helps with range handling, tyre longevity braking the lot .

Nope. I'm sure there are a lot of people out there ready to buy an EV facing the same dilemma. It's probably time to go to an HOA meeting and get the ball rolling on possible options. Again, great review.

Great vid. I have over 45K on my Model Y with the same specs except that I did not PPF my Y so I have a few rock chips on the nose and sand blasting in front of the rear tires. I agree with most of your review. Keep up the good work.

@@jambaman916 I wish! I ran snow tires for about 18K miles in the winter and wore out my summers in 20K miles for the rears and 30k for my fronts. I now rotate at about 5K for more even wear.

@@jambaman916 I went with the Goodyears again but without the foam for $182 each but free tire rotations were included. There was also a Goodyear rebate of $150 for the set.

@@danielstoicamusic Yea its stiffer than a BMW X3 or Mercedes GLC 300 but those don't compare in performance. So when you move to the AMG or M Models which have similar performance to the Tesla then the suspension is more in line with that. The Model Y is rigid but for good reason and I think the newer ones are better. I hope that helps

Test drove a Model Y yesterday... it made me literally nearly throw up because of the regenerative breaking. And the fun part...you can't even turn it off to cost when lifting off the accelerator. So...no thanks. Shame, was kinda looking forwards to owning a tesla.

I have Model Y Performance and after 30k miles, the degradation is real. Love my Tesla, but it’s sucks to lose the range.

I don’t get the Ppf yes your car is protected but still looks like shit from rocks unless you peel it off eventually but then that’s a waste of money. You pretty much keeping it nice for the next guy.

The PPF is self healing so it doesn’t look like shit. I do it on all my cars I’ve had it for years and it works
