    Do you know if LFP batteries can degrade after a few years? I'm not sure, but I understood that NMC batteries can degrade after a few years depending on the charging behaviors... It would be nice to understand that. Amazing content !! I found it very useful ;)

  • @ItsOnlyElectric

    @ItsOnlyElectric

    6 ай бұрын

    All batteries degrade with faulty behavior like excessive supercharging. LFP Batteries are a bit more robust since they can be charged to 100% all the time without taking damage. So LFP in general has lower energy density (heavier) not as good at handling cold weather but will probably last longer.

The metal bar in the door is to help with side crashes (provides an extra anchor point). I'm curious how you find the seats compared to the old model? Some people said the first model 3's had better seats, but it would seem odd to downgrade something as important as that.

    @@ItsOnlyElectric Of course! 😊 I’m holding my both hands on the steering wheel through the turns, with my left thumb still on the button while steering wheel fully turned (racing driver style) - not only is it doable, it’s also very safe, since both hands are controlling the car during the turns. However, this style is not used by many people, and needs the correct driving position (this also being safer) along with some training. Doing it with only one hand is a bit trickier, of course, but also double after some training. Claiming that this feature, like many smart people on the internet does, is unsafe, is farfetched, especially if you haven’t tried it yourself. Most people have trouble using stalks to indicate when driving in roundabouts, but after some training they manage, same thing with these buttons.

I have driven the car on both the Winter Tires (Nokian R5 non-studded), along with the original Michelins, and the Winter tires are extremely soft and does not add to the sporty sensation. @@ItsOnlyElectric I went for the LR - wanted the extra performance, 4WD and the improved sound system. The extra range (which you perfectly pointed out is only available when 100 % of charge, preferable only from time to time) during longer vacations, well, that’s mostly a plus-på-köpet-feature. You also get the alcantara-material on the door sides, which, if I understood it correctly, is not the same on the SR. Mostly prefer the un-nordic winter tires, due to them performing better during the wet and dry. The best solution for not crashing during our winter season is to adopt speed, but of course, a good tire will help 😊 Good to hear you like them. Will be fun to try them on some steep climbs during snow covered roads later 😊 Want to turn off the ESP, but I can only find the option to approve of some slip - guess you need the performance version (or ludicrous to come) to do that, which is a shame for my smile, but probably the best for staying away from a crash 😊

With that being said every since I’ve did a test drive of a Model 3 in 2020 I’ve fallen in love with the car and I don’t mind the minimalist interior at all, I actually like it tbh. The main issue I had was the build quality and the door closing sounds of the old model. Coming from an Audi build quality to the old Model 3 it felt like an huge downgrade in that department. I had the chance to check the new model in the showroom last week and actually test drive it and those points seemed fixed. The LR (100kwh battery) is 811k with the battery (or 571k +3k /m rental) 0-100 4.0 sec (heavier battery) and 570km range. The model 3 SR = 519k, The LR = 609k 0-100 4.4 but 678km (18" wheels) / 639km range with 19" wheels. The NIO is 100k to 200k more than a LR depending on the battery or after 21m the ET5 is more expensive than the LR highland if renting the 75kwh battery or 12m if renting the 100kwh.
