In an interview on BBC Radio 4 (The Museum Of Curiosity) Terry Pratchett said, (as best I can remember) “When it comes to the universe, it is humanity’s job to look at it and tell it what it is.” I have never been able to stop thinking about that, ever since. It has served as an inspiration, which turned me into a writer. Well, I guess the reading public will decide if that’s the case, when I produce something? But, that single sentiment; that incredibly deep, constantly reinterpretable (👈 yes, I invented a word. What of it?) incite, is what made me start writing. That is a debt I owe, to a man I never met, who’s power over the art form, could transform the life of a stranger. His genius will be forever underrated, since he poured it so generously into comedy, which has always been the poor relation (along with Si Fi and Fantasy) to what we think of as great, “Literature.” He was among the absolute greatest. I sincerely hope you do more adaptations? It occurs to me that the ongoing adventures of Captain Vimes would be perfect for you guys? And that, (perhaps?) Mr Gaiman might be willing to contribute to the adaptations? At least, insofar as rounding out the series and bringing his tale to a conclusion for your series? If you had a success with Good Omens, you will find an army of hungry fans who would flock to the banner of Captain Vimes, ready made, who would attract many others with them. Before you know it, you’ll have a major franchise to rival the Harry Potter series. I don’t doubt it. Thanks for Good Omens

I discovered Terry Pratchett some years ago, but quite by accident. You see, I remembered reading a book about an enormous structure erected about a star at roughly Earth-orbit called Ringworld ('twas Larry Niven) and I was looking for it at a library. Instead, I discovered a few books mentioning Discworld and, confused I guess, checked them out. I quickly discovered the difference between Ringworld and Discworld, and have since read every Pratchett book I could lay my hands on. I've purchased every Discworld fiction book; I don't have the "science of Discworld" books and I'm sure I'm missing some other fan fodder, but the books! From The Colour of Magic to The Shepherd's Crown (which I really think is the best one of all), I cherish them all.

I like Rob, was fortunate enough to be one of those in a book signing - in a small book shop in Durham - for a humanist it was sort of ironic that it was the SPCK bookshop - I had my two minutes with the great man he signed a quote for me and also The Colour of Magic, I have a signed copy of Good Omens that a friend got for me and I am eternally greatful to Sir pTerry. I have been a fan since about the time of the release of Pyramids, and had many opportunities to discuss things in alt.fan.pratchett with him, back before the WWW was even a thing..., he and CMOT Briggs graciously let me use the Discworld as a theme for an activity hike I was doing for the local Scouts... I proudly have my BF, and my UU scarf tucked away in the loft. I had one last chance to see Sir Terry talk at a literary festival at Ely which was both joyous and sad because you saw glimpses of the genius between moments of the embuggerance. Rob held everything together and to him I am also eternally greatful without him, we may not have had quite as many of Terry's books.

But I was working in a bookstore, stocking my favorite section (Sci-fi and fantasy) and I ran across this gem of a book called Good Omens. I was unfamiliar with Terry Pratchett, though we stoked many of his books. After reading Good Omens, I wanted to know who the heck he was and started reading the Discworld series. In my minds eye I see somewhere out there in the Multiverse of Parallel Worlds. Terry Pratchett seated at a table eatting sushi, watching Good Omens. & laughing his head off at the Christian protesters who pensioned Netflix to 'take down' the show. 🍱🍶💻 ➕😠😳😂

The mini series was far from perfect, but it's an adaptation and all adaptations differ from the source material. I think Sir Pterry would have enjoyed it.

It wasn't cancelled. It was only meant to be one season. It's based on the book with a beginning, a middle and end. That's it.
