Although I wasn't born by the time this song was made, I have learned to appreciate the songs from the 70's. A time when music had a meaning.

My dad passed away on March 8 1974. On March 9 the number 1song of the week was Season In the Sun (a Saturday) . It stayed number 1for 8 weeks. To this day Instill cry when I hear it. I was 14 and am now 62

I was 13 when I first heard this song. How I would love to go back to those wonderful days.

I remember my mom playing this song when I was little... now my dad is dying in the spring... he felt he was the black sheep of his family....I am going to miss my dad, many bad times, but more good... I love this song!

I introduced this song last week to my 9 year old twin daughters, and they fell in love with this song after the first listen. They have been listening to this everyday for the past week, over and over again. I too remember listening to this when it first came out in 1974, and I have to say, I also liked this song and still do, 38 years later, conjures allot of memories for me.

I too was 11 in ‘74 when this came out and was too young to understand it fully, but was utterly spellbound by it…

Ahh my favorite melancholy song. Like an old friend, I am happy to see it again.

Sooo many memories. I was 16 living in Tehran , Iran. Yes you may be surprise, Iran was like any western country. This song was number one for weeks.

Wonderful. They don't write them like this anymore..

@scientifico i was approx your age also when this song came out..( 45 yrs old now)..I remember this song well..and Terry/Susan Jacks & The Poppy Family..their songs were all over the radio 'back in the day'..dad used to play a lot of hockey when I was kid..always in the car travelling here and there to his hockey games, and I totally remember these songs on the radio, and still love listening to them today..the 70s were great...
